I am, as the subject line says, a newcomer to the online world of Evochron. I bought EM several months ago, my first discovery of the Evochron series, but have only just recently gotten comfortable with it and ventured out into the multiplayer servers. A very few of you may have seen me on the Stargate and Starport 6 servers bumbling around as Destro (FKA Mephisto).
Now that I am starting to crest over the insane learning curve for this game, my appetite has been whet, and I'm eager to get out and explore the seemingly endless things this game and community has to offer.
And jeez, do I mean endless.
In fact, there's so much information on these forums alone, it's a little overwhelming. So here's what I'm asking. If anyone out there doesn't mind taking a moment to point out a few highlights on the message boards for me to browse through, I would sure appreciate it. Also, I personally look for immersion in sim games like this, and one of the cherries on such a sundae is a convincing roleplay environment. That isn't to say the game is ruined without it, just that it would really (in my opinion) just put that finishing touch on what is already a very believably living world. If anyone knows about any game servers where that sort of thing is encouraged, that would be even better. Even some sections of the forums where people post stories about their individual pilots would be great. I like seeing what other kinds of people are flying the sticks I see out my window.
So yeah - just a newbie looking for a brief roadmap. Any help at all is appreciated. Looking forward to flying with you!
