Text box is cut off

The text box is cut off in the top left. I don't know how to fix it or what is causing it; I don't know what the tutorial is telling me because the guy talks pretty quick without giving me time to understand. No, I'm not slow, the tutorial is not very well-paced.

Either way, anyone know of a fix?

The mod you are using cropped off the end of the message log, including its controls which lets you go back and review previous messages or hold them in place until you finish reading. You'll need to update the chattext.dat file (located in the \\HUD folder) to the correct current format:

chattext.dat
1st value sets the red color (0-255, default 200)
2nd value sets the green color (0-255, default 200)
3rd value sets the blue color (0-255, default 200)
4th value sets the X pixel offset (usually leave at 20)
5th value sets the Y pixel offset (usually leave at 50)
6th value sets the X position (ie -7.5 for widescreen displays)
7th value sets the Y position (usually leave at 0)

Make sure line 4 is 20 and 5 is 50, then you can change the location just using the position values (6 and 7).

Also, you can always go back and repeat any step you want if you need to during training by pressing alt-enter.

Hi,
I'm new to the game and the forum. Hi to everyone, I'm really enjoying this game.

I'm sorry but I'm not a techie. I've opened my chattext.dat file located in the HUD folder using free file viewer. I don't appear to be able to edit the lines.

My chattext.dat file shows:
128
203
255
-100
40

Any help would be great! I'm using Viper's latest Hud:
SilicuMAX CP/HUD/UI (EM v2.X)

Hello and welcome. You'll just need to open the file in a text editor, like notepad, change the values, then save the file. Example values are available in these threads related to the new format and options available in the chattext.dat file:
