Messages cut off - Silicum cockpit

Hello,

I've been away for a couple of years, but recently returned to EM. I have installed the Silicum 2 cockpit mod, and noticed that the "comm feed" area is not displaying properly. (I'm not sure if that's what it's called -- it's the area on the upper left side of the screen that displays messages.) It seems mostly cut off. Is there any way to fix this?

Also, I've noticed that none of my primary weapons have sound. Effects volume is all the way up.

Really old mods need to be updated to the new format and options within the chattext.dat file. The details are in the latest customizing kit and I also posted them here on the forum in a reply: http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtop ... #pid172566

So, if I understand this correctly, I just have to open the chattext.dat file, and chance the values for lines 4 and 5 to 20 and 50, respectively? There is also a file called chattext_high_sat.dat. Do I have to edit that as well?

Not chattext_high_sat.dat, only the one listed in the kit (chattext.dat). Then if you have a widescreen display, you can apply the values I listed in that post. So it would look like this:
