I would like to compile a list of mods working with the newest version of EM since the list in the great "NEW [EM] PLAYERS" thread contains many mods that do not work anymore or even cause problems.
Since I'm a fairly new player (10 hrs so far :P) i could use your help doing this.
Just post the title and link of the mod you have tested and would like to add to the list and i shall do so.

:cool: The thread of which you speak is being taken over by DaveK ... who will be re-posting Viper's original "Table of Contents" and updating it accordingly. If you have identified some of the dead and/or outdated links, I'm sure he would appreciate it if you passed them along.

Hello RagingRascal and welcome to the game/sim and forum! :)

The High Detail Capital Ships mod worked rather well (as in past tense) with Mercs 1.XX genre. It does not work yet (well...sort of - it's pretty weird looking.) with Mercs 2.XX. Some one with the time and requisite skill, could possibly re-work it for Mercs 2.XX. From what I understand with this one, there are some scaling/modeling and game-physics issues that need to be resolved, as a start. Might ask Leatherpoker. :)

Same with Leatherpoker's Starport mod. Only in this case, with the increases in planet size, and the imparting of spin, and etc....it needs some heavy detail/code work in order to be used well at all. :(

Groenelampkap's High Resolution Nebula pack (10 or 12 cX.png's, IIRC) still works with Mercs 2.XX. Not sure about the link(s). His last environmental/nebula mod offering (stars/starsX.png) hasn't as yet been 'cleared' for release. :(

As for DaveK and his thread its good to read that this is already being taken care off but i will nonetheless continue updating this thread until the new one is ready so it can serve as a reference point for new players (including me).

Marvin is right - I would appreciate any help at all with . . .
  • identifying non-working mods / irrelevant entries etc
  • being informed of any updated mods / new mods / potential new entries etc
I'm also thinking about adding either a thumbnail for (relevant) mods, particularly HUDS and ships, so players can browse and choose or a downloadable illustrated catalogue of mods with links to the forum and SeeJay's site. Is there a demand for this?

it would be amazing to make a new mod catalogue with screen shots and direct download links. it would make browsing mods much easier.
Seejays (incredibly useful) website would actually serve as something like this but it seems he doesnt update it too much anymore:(

Dave, as with your Mercs Manual and the H&T Guide, should you gin up what you're suggesting - it WILL get used. More likely often as not. As I am always on the look out for that which will enhance my own 'evochron experience', I am sure that there are others of like mind out there. :cool::cool: :)

@ R.R. - Good work here! Thanks for you efforts. SeeJay, like a lot of us, has real life concerns that require most of his attention. Work - Family - the usual suspects. He does update his sites as he can 'gitter done'. :P

:cool: Actually, as of late, SeeJay has spent a lot of time building a "doorway" into a new quest: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Evoverse - Quest Companion. As for any dead links at his website, it would help if they are reported to SeeJay whenever they are discovered.

Yes, as stated above, I've been busy but I do update
the website on a daily basis.

However, I do not browse the forum or the
internet for mods or other cool stuff. To much
time consuming. I have requested that anyone
that want their stuff on my (our) site just need
to send it to me or at least give me a heads up.

The problem of this thread is this:

Most mods work with the expansion only with change the filetype (jpg <-> png) for example :P

Thanks but impossible for now...

im working in some projects related with the evochron universe (Some related with Evochron and some related with Arvoch) and i don't have time for more things :(

Except as mentioned in the continually updated Merc's Customizing Kit, the general 'rule of thumb' for modders of graphics files, is to use rather exclusively the *.png format. There are no-cost to low-cost programs available to do the conversion thingy, and the end results work rather well. In/by using the formats that are not *.png, over time the individual files will become corrupted/rode hard-put away wet/depleted/diminished/rendered unsafe and unusable, and will eventually break your game. Not having the requisite skill set, and being a plagiarist of the first magnitude, I pay particular attention to both the quality and 'type' of work offered here (in 4um) and elsewhere. Cain't fly no broken game.... ;)

P.S.: Cronic's Cylon Raider IS pretty spiffy! Flown it myself a time or two. :) :cool::cool:
