Two questions about clan stations

Post by Deliphin »

What is the distance required for a clan station to be existent? that is, distance from another clan station. I'm asking because if it's around 100 sectors, that's going to be problematic (still looking for a system that sells a mantis drive! (if anyone knows a system that does have one, tell me. I've found Pearl doesn't have one)), but if it's only 20 or so, then things will be easy for me. Another thing, if I make my station too close to another clan station, does it say I cant make one there (like if I made a regular station in the same sector as another regular station.) or does it loosen control of the other clan station (like doing a mission from their clan station)? I'm asking because I don't want to accidentally cause hostilities to another clan.

The build distance of 2 sectors is for all stations not just clan stations. Of course you can go up or down 2 or more sectors also.:D Regular stations are good for discounts when you hold the license. There is a 50 station per system limit placed by the Sim. The more Clan tagged stations a Clan has in a system the slower their % of control will deteriorate over time.

Distance is not so important. It is the system that counts. Pearl does sell mantis drives but you have to go to the hidden planet and some times its not there. You have to do some jumping around sometimes to make it available. Come on tonight (8/20 7:00 CDT) and I'll help you get what you need. Also get on to Teamspeak to make it easier. If you don't have it download it and I'll help you get connected. You need a mic tho.

 Stations also have a "range from center of sector" restriction. If you look at the nav map when zoomed in all the way, you'll see it divided into four center squares bordered by outer squares. The trade station must be built within those center four center squares.

I have a mic. Also, what server? And what is the teamspeak IP?

50 station per system? As in, 50 stations in Evochron or Pearl only? Cause that's loads. :D

The "range from sector center" Marv's on about, refers to that chat-warning of not being within the plus or minus 50 metres of the center of the sector box, in which you're attempting to build. And, it's only a "50-station limit" if that's what you want to do - limit building in that system to just what you've built. No others allowed! Realisticaly ? 25-built stations in a system seems to hold the clan control appreciably well, and doesn't cost near as much. ;)

 Actually, station limits are determined according to a grid pattern mapped across the Evoverse. Totally independent of where the star systems are located. Consequently, if a star system is situated between grid lines, there's a possibiltiy you can build up to 100 stations or more.

To sum it up:

- At least one empty sector between Trade Stations in any direction.
- The Trade Station must be build within 50.000 from the center of the sector in any direction.
(A sector is 200.000 x 200.000 x 200.000)
- In the same sector as a Trade Station you can also build
1 Constructor Station, 1 Research Station, 1 Energy Station and 1 Ore Processor.
- 50 limit Trade Stations / System (Such as Pearl). (A system is roughly 250 x 250 x 250 sectors)
- Clans add [clan] to the Trade Station name to decrease the % drop rate when clan is offline.
- You will get a warning that you can't build if the limit of 50 stations is reached or the position is wrong.
(You must destroy stations if the limit is reached. Might not be appreciated by all LOL).

Most equipment can be found in Pearl and also Atlas in MP has lots of good stuff.
I have found the Mantis at many locations. No need to go to hidden places for it.

 Help what, exactly? With navigation? With understanding the current 3D map? With finding hidden items and systems?

help showing a 3d space into 3d model, ... so make it lill realistic about a futuristic universe indeed

help showing instantly if you are "over" or "under" an object

on a flat land we use flat map, in 3d land we need 3d map, that's all

but that is just an idea and wont talk about it anymore as it seems to much violently new for some old players... feeling little heretic talkin about map here...

 Actually, it's a lot easier to plot a waypoint using the current map. Most 3D maps (the kind you can rotate) only allow you to click on an object on the map. That's because it's extremely clumsy trying to click on a point in space not already defined within the 3D map structure.

The following graphic shows you (green sector squares) where you can build another station id there is a station already in the centre sector of y=0. The 5 layers represent the y+2, y+1, y, y-1, y-2 coordinates

Does it help?

:)
