Actually I think I have more than 3, since I love good mods. But if I had to make a choice:

-1) the 'effects and backgrounds' mod by groenelampkap, which holds those beautiful nebulae;
-2) the ENB Series 'bloom mod', by Leatherpoker (I just get off on bloom);
-2.5) the HUD & cockpit mod made by Maximilien.
-3) the HD cap ships mod by Leatherpoker.

Couldn't get it any shorter, sorry.

awesome sounds like i got the same type taste on mods! but the bloom i think is too fancy, but hey its me i like it sharp? (

Nebula mod (basic or enhanced)
Asteroids (Mojo)
Capital Ships

(and I have to use the 4GB memory patch for 64bit systems or I crash when using too many mods)

Tiny Tree Mod is quite nice too...

I love all the mods im using

I have all the stuff listed here so far which is:

Leatherpoker's Nebula mod
Mojo Asteroids mod
ENB Series 'bloom mod', by Leatherpoker
HUD & cockpit mod made by Maximilien.
HD cap ships mod by Leatherpoker.

Plus

Planetary rings by Ecco1

And one of the best mods out there in my opinion, one i'd definitely put in my top 3

Civilian ship textures by Slamscape

And of course, while i have been experiencing problems with it, you should definitely have a music mod since the like 4 tracks in the game, while good, are gonna get repetitive real quick.

Ah ... okay. I was thinking that most people don't say "thanks" until the job is a done deal. Either way, my vote still stands as Atoll's program for number 1. As for number 2, it would probably be the blue cockpit mod. Off hand, I can't think of a number 3 ... unless it's the Tree mod.
