ok I admit I didn't invent this. but I've ben asked this a lot recently.................

here is the easiest way ( not the best ) to jump through a wormhole that is centered in the middle of a black hole

1. jump to a point that you feel is safe near a black hole
2. open your nav and right click on the wormhole ( setting your nav point there)
3. set your shields on full
4. afterburner to full speed at your nav point
5. at a distance of under 1399 or under, hit jump ( defauly F2 )
6. bob is your uncle

if you can't work out jumps from this and my earlier posts about extreme jumps PM me,

afterburner full speed... mine maxes out at 3900ish... do i need to get 4k to be considered "full speed"?

Haven't tried yet... i'll give it a shot tomorrow ;)

I was wondering how you adjust your shields? I tried the keyboard commands listed in the keymap but they don't seem to have a noticable effect. maybe I will just check the key settings in the game & as I thought they are the same, maybe Vice can add some sort of note or acknowledgment that you have adjusted your shield. sorry this post is longwinded but had alot to say.:)

a thought... and the way I jump into black holes...

1. right click the wormhole in the center of the blackhole.
2. adjust heading and pitch to zero
3. change the in sector jump coordinates to +2500 (so if the wormhole is at x22500, y0 , z30000 adjust to x22500, y0 , z32500)
4. Set shields to maximum.
5. Engage your fuclrum drive.
6. It hurts quite a bit btw :)
7. Just because.

Edited for the mistake I always make.

I'm sorry to report that neither technique is working for me.

when I try Verbosity's method, I explode on contact with the orb while warping ahead. I've even taken the time to get approaches that thread through the "black opening" and straight into the orb, all to no avail. I've tried varying the boost speed and the distance to the orb between 1200-2000. I cannot get much closer than 1200 without exploding.

When I try Daedalao's approach (Saphire: x80000>x82500,) I seem to last longer and it looks as if I pass through the disk before I blow up, but not not before I can orient myself to see anything. I don't even know if I'm near the orb when I go up.

I'm flying a Navy Evoch-G with x5 shield boosters set to 5s/-5E before jump.

Daedalao's, what exactly do you mean by "adjust heading and pitch to zero?"

Thanks for the help, folks.

I made a mistake sbchris, re read and try again... I did this with shield boost x5 though... but in a raven... (didn't want to dump my cargo)

Heading is at the top of the HUD. used for Left/Right Orientation. Pitch are the numbers that scroll past as you rotate up/down.

I made a mistake... and when doing it the way I suggested, adjust your z axis by 2500 not the x axis. I always get confuzzled by those :P

Thanks for the correction. That got me through like a charm.

The thing is, though, I came out right next to Talison Station, In Talison. Is that the normal destination for the Saphire black hole?

@ RedVeyron : yeah pretty much as fast as your ship can go is the goal, it doesn't matter too much if its not +4K

Daed makes a good point that I forgot to mention, reall you want to be 'above' the disk, with it appearing flat and the center straight 'below' you before starting your run.

Also thanks to Daed, I was working from memory and missed a couple of factors ( and got a bit wrong), his description is better

@ sbchris : you're getting there , a little practice and you'll be flying through them in no time :)

The goal is to get into the jump tunnel, but hit the wormhole just before you actually jump.

Also I made an error, the value should be under 2500 rather than 1400 , also trying 2800 might be useful.

When I do it I do something else, its harder to actually get through the hole but you're more likely to survive, set the jump point for a safe point near where you start your run, then hit jump when the wormhole is 3/4 the size of your targeting ring, if you are too late you die, but to early and you jump to your safe point, so you can try a few times getting closer each time :)

it's not something thats easy, in fact this can be considered the trickiest jump manouver possible in the game ( for good reason), but with practice you'll get it:

with my method verb, you can jump outside of the event horizon or even a sector away. I jump from a safe distance almost directly into the wormhole. Which then propels you into the furthest reaches of the universe as it were.

Yeah, I use the method as Daedalao, and I have never had my ship destroyed. It always works if done right, and doesn't require perfect timing.
