I've just noticed I seem to be speed-limited to 3800, in "Inertial" mode. Once I've upped my speed in a direction to 3800, applying more thrust in that direction has no effect - except using up fuel. I was kind of expecting to use good ol' Newtonian style of crossing large distances - fire thrusters for a long time in the required direction to get up some serious velocity, then sit pretty while I fly along, then decel once I've got where I'm going. I take it this is intentional "soft edges" for the physics model?
I meet ships in deep(ish) space, out in the middle of nowhere. Is every ship "real" and a long-term fixture in the universe? Or are they spawned around you to add life, then unmade once their bit-part is over?
I hear talk of a Beacon Quest. Did I miss some vital initial clue in th game? Did I not do something I shoulda done? Or do all things come to those who wait?
I've got a Science Officer and Nav Officer living with me in that cramped little ship of mine. Glad it's only a game, or we'd be getting THEE SPACE MADNESS by now. They very occasionally pipe up and pretend to earn their massively inflated salary by telling me about containers "over that way". Great, thanks... but is there some way to prod them to give me a revised bearing/inclination every so often??? Right now, I have to wake them up by using my FD to hop over to the next sector, then hop back! I pay these jokers enough to give me more than an initial hint per sector jump, hehe. Any way to trigger another direction message?
Also, dumb mouse-waving user alert: "Exit" and "Save" buttons are adjacent in the main menu. I just whacked the former by accident (duh), and found there was no CANCEL selection. Escape key doesn't cancel either. All you can do is, er, Exit or Exit without Saving! Oops.
