update Track IR
from Vice
You'll just need to download the latest game updates for the TrackIR software. Open the TrackIR program, then click on Update, then click on Check for game updates. You should then see Evochron Legends listed in the game list and you're good to go.
hope that helps

Indeed, get the latest version of the TrackIR software from TrackIR's website. It should update your TrackIR support to include Evochron Legends.

Yes, lets make this a sticky, at least temporarily. Thanks for posting the information guys.

For all TrackIR users, Evochron Legends is a new game and as such, is not listed in the 'old' database of games that comes with the TrackIR program. Just use the update method posted above to add the game to the list and activate TrackIR support.

It's an amazingly cool toy that allows you to control the in-game camera just by turning your head. A small infrared sensor sits on top of your monitor, and a small frame holding three reflective points attaches to either your headset or a normal ballcap.

I just bought mine a couple weeks ago, and now can't imagine playing any flight/space sim without it. The effect is like tripling the dimensions of my monitor so I can see in all directions all the time. The software takes a little tweaking to get the settings all comfortable for my personal preference, so when I'm looking straight ahead the camera sits still, and when I turn my head a few degrees to either side the camera pans 90 degrees.

There's also a free version of the software out there, called Freetrack. But with Freetrack you have to put the reflectors and IR camera together yourself, and there's some dispute over the legality of the software; TrackIR claims Freetrack pirated their code.

So TrackIR is expensive but works great. Freetrack is free and also works great, but is a more intensive DIY project and has allegations of some shady dealings.
Pay no attention to me!
I\'m just a weather balloon. And some swamp gas... uhh... refracted the light of Venus or something.
Yeah, that\'s it. Definitely not a spaceship, no sir.

Just ordered mine, simply couldn't go without any longer. If you are a UK or EU resident and you're considering buying TrackIR, I suggest using this company.

FreeTrack works great for me. I'm using the built-in webcam on my MacBook Pro booted into Windows, and just needed to fiddle with the controls in the FreeTrack software before I found something workable. The FreeTrack website has some guides for assembling good and simple tracking devices too, costing you perhaps as little as $5-10.

Just for fun I'm using a red mini-flashlight taped to a hat and still having fun in Evochron without any other hardware needed :P But in the next few days I'll likely assemble my own 1-point or 3-point device so it works better in all lighting conditions and more elegantly.

Very cool :)
