I have a wish, but I don't think a new Topic needs to be created...
When calibrating the control buttons in the options, there is a <click here> to delete the button assignment.
Could this *please* be extended on the keyboard keys too? Currently, it just deletes the joystick setting!
IMO this is important, because when those settings are done acording to personal preferations, the steady exchange of the key assignments causes some functions to be set kind of random, and those can be dangerous (f. ex. "escape and self destruct ship")!

If you do that, then you remove the control entirely. Why not just move a function to something obscure rather than removing being able to use it at all?

It's a personal perference thing. I, too, like to start off by unbinding all key commands, then figuring out which commands I want and assigning keys to them. It's not critical. It *feels* important, though.Originally posted by Vice

Yeah, the more I think about Ferreus' point, the more it makes sense. Ok plan on a clear key option for the next update.

Or how about this point... if a player is physically disabled in some way and they tend to press more than one key at once, a key clear is also a good idea so they can set game keys spaced out from each other. Just a thought.

Oh yeah, I like that last one let's consider the physically impaired... a really convincing argument you got there. Like, if I were blind, I would be very much helped by having the keys further away from each other...
To be honest I think this game has so many keys that it is impossible to actually space them out that much...
Anyway, a 'reconfigure keys" button might be usefull.
In case it's still the subject of the topic... I use a mouse... or wasn't that the question?

Hi folks.
Since the poll requested specifics if we use a Joystick or Gamepad:
I use the Logitec Extreme 3d Pro. I don't like it as much as I liked my old Saitek Cyborg but it will do for now.
My only complaint about it is that I cannot individually adjust the sensitivity of the axes. I'd think that the joystick drivers should provide that kind of fine-tuning. My roll (twist on the joystick) seems TOO sensitive compared to the other 2 axes.

Awww... geez. Now I have to go out and buy an X-52. I have an X-45 but I don't use it for space-sims because I can't stand the rocker rudder control. I had assumed the X-52 was the same but now I see that it has a twist rudder.
I was just using a MS Sidewinder Precision 2 (pretty old, but actually a fine stick) because, even with all of the features of the X-45, the twist clinches it. I use the x-axis for roll and the rudder for yaw because it makes it easier to transition between space sims/flight sims.
I see BestBuy has X-52's on sale for $90. Ebay has some slightly better deals but it looks like they'll still end up $60-$70 including shipping once it's all said and done and I'd rather just go out and pick a new one up at the store.
There is nothing like having big clunky controls in front of you covered with buttons, switches, knobs, sliders and LEDs to make you feel like you're in a space-ship.
Oh, and hello. I'm new.

Using Saitek X-52 and TrackIR here and both work fine. I was amazed to find this game has support for TrackIR when so many of the latest space sims do not include it. It just adds immersion in bucketloads to an already immersive game.

You like the twist control? I have an X52, but refuse to use it because I think "twist" is unnatural. I prefer the "rocker" any day!Originally posted by Mechanical

Btw, Saitek has it's own store and they sell "reconditioned" contollers at 1/2 price with full warranties. Check them out @

I have the X52 but I have to unplug my CH pro pedals to play as Evo thinks thats my main controler..Does anyone know how to make them work together in Evo?
I have the beta drivers for the X52. There used to be a way in the joystick control panel that U could set the Controller ID's but it does not seem to be there now. Seems Its setting My pro pedals as the Primary controller.

CH devices are notorious for forcing their way into top device slots and not allowing you to make changes. See the instructions near the bottom (the device2set.txt file under technical notes) for the multiple device option where you can adapt the game to work with two devices, including one that blocks other devices from the primary slot.I have the X52 but I have to unplug my CH pro pedals to play as Evo thinks thats my main controler..Does anyone know how to make them work together in Evo?

Again, in the instructions. You need to create the file in the game's folder and input the needed device slot setting value, then test and adjust as needed.

Did you try the number 1? Did you try the unplug-then-plug in method?

Yes, I tried number 1 first...Cause its number 1:) Dont worry about It Vice, Im sure U can find somthing much funner to do on a Saturday than try to get some guys pedals to work so he doesnt have to unplug the device hehehe..Its really not that important..I will just Unplug it. It screws up a few other games also. It works GREAT in FSX and FS2004 and thats the main reason I got the pedals.
I cant belive they took out the ID and the ability to set controller priority in the Joy control panel.
BTW, Thanks for the support on Saturday:)P
I just bought VUE6 and Need to see what it can do...Time to get artistic:P

It's no problem, happy to help. It will work, just requires setting the right slot and unplugging/plugging it in (or turning it off/on) at the right time.
