[EL] Questions about space and planet side stations

So I decided I wanted to play around with building a planet side station on Crulean, in Evochron Legacy. I searched around and there are no stations near that planet in space, or on the planet itself.

So my questions would be....

1) I read about this command module, is that for space stations only?

2) In order to maintain control of my planet side station, do I require a space station in orbit as well?

3) On a MP server, will the economy be affected dynamically like the default stations? Or do I need to manually move materials to the station, for it to sell to others?

4) Can I build a station in the same sector as a Jump Gate, if no stations are present?

No. On a planet, the command module acts as your landing pad.

Yup. Otherwise your city will be tagged as IMG ... and somebody of the opposite faction can come along, build a space station and, as a result, take over your city.

It depends on the server settings. But, either way, you aren't required to move materials manually.

Thanks for clarifying that Marvin. I just wiped my Universe and decided to restart as a Federation Pilot, originally I was Alliance. I noticed Fed space has a lot less stations then Alliance space so far. This is what made me interested in popping up my own Station.

I'll have to save up and look at deploying my own space station, with heavy defenses, and then building a ground station planet side. I don't have to worry about griefing from Human players, since it is a private server for a small group of friends. Although, The NPC ships do tend to try, and fail, to knock out stations in multiplayer.

I have yet to see an AI take down a station ... but they sure can cause problems when trying to test part of a quest and you spend a lot of time near the command module.

Indeed Marvin. The ALC consistently harasses my station in the Disputed System of Cerulean. I attached a screenshot of the station in Orbit around the planet. Don't mind the horribly placed weapon turrets. I never built a station before and it took a bit before I got the whole "placement thing" figured out.

She's still not finished being completed. But she will be a "military Hub" for the FDN on my server. Since the FDN have no stations in this system.

Is there a way to remove badly placed station parts (i.e. Weapon Platforms)? If I shoot them, I get flagged as an enemy and my station blows me up. :(

I tried to find this "scuttle option" that was mentioned in other posts, but I did not see it.

You can only scuttle deployed objects, not built ones. And, once the module is built, the only way you can get rid of it is to either: (1) blow it up, (2) go back to a place where you saved your profile prior to building the module, (3) start a new profile or (4) in MP, you can ask the host to delete the station from his universe file.

How do I delete the station, or Modules from the MP profile? This station is on a private server.

There should be a universe file somewhere. For further instructions, somebody with an up-and-running server will need to chime in.

I think Vice is making the option to delete /cancel your own building part of an update. You're right, it shouldn't be that hard to correct a mistake, which happens alot when building.
