In Mercenary, I was able to go to a text file in the folder then activate and custom position additional information about my sector/in-sector position and also have on-screen info about my cargo bay contents. The latter made mining a good bit smoother for me.
Do these features still exist? If so, how would I go about activating them in Legacy?
Thanks. ~S~

Hi RC. Legacy does have a Customizing Kit ... but, at the moment I can't seem to find it. Most of the options are similar to those in Mercenary. Stand by ....
Roger that Marv, I'll DL it and take a look myself.

I'm not seeing what I'm looking for in the info though.

I haven't checked it yet but here's what I did to convert the Travel Buddy and move the chat window: insert the Mercenary version into the game and see what happens. It worked for the chat window but didn't work for the Travel Buddy ... so I've had to make changes (it works now).

@RubberChicken... I found by chance the file for displaying the sector info on the hud. It's "hudtext.txt". On the Customiser Kit Page it says it is for "Optional location position for HUD flight timer." But it also includes the sector info. I noticed some other info displayed which I didn't know what it was... perhaps the cargo info?
I was actually looking for a way to customise/remove some of the other HUD info (vertical velocity, horizontal velocity, altitude, gravity etc). I never did find out how to do that.
The hudtext.dat file options should still work in the new game. I think at the time I wasn't sure if they would carry over, but reviewing the code shows those systems are still in place. Just can't say if they will look correct or work the same way.
The hudtext.txt file options let you move the gunsight text readouts around. So that's a separate system to provide HUD designers with a way to move things around the gunsight, or even off the screen if they wish.

With a lot of help from my son, I've converted all the old data for a Legacy version. But I want to add one new piece of info ... if I can find some of the calculations I made awhile back and confirm the location of necessary data in the savedata file.
