Sure, go ahead and make that video, I encourage the idea! Just don't wait with shooting until I'm in game, I don't play much these days.From post: 161392, Topic: tid=9867, author=Iron man wrote:I had one idea about do some video of the clan when we play and post on youtube for example for promote the game and the clan.

I just stumbled across that quote one day on the net and decided it would be quite appropriate for the Rebels, so picked it up. But to be honest I had no idea it was a Shakespeare quote. After a bit of googling I found this information about the quote:From post: 161396, Topic: tid=9867, author=Torkmada wrote:Read and agree for the update.... And I like the new "Shakespearean" Rebel Clan quote
One of the well-known lines from the St. Crispin's Day Speech of Shakespeare's Henry V.
From Shakespeare's Henry V, 1598:
KING HENRY V:
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

You could use Fraps to record in-game video. It's free (although there's also a payed-for version).
And of all the things I dislike about Micro$oft, I think Windows Movie Maker is actually quite a good program to edit videos (like you said, add music, images, etc).
Good luck!

Alright Marcellus, thanks for reading. I honestly didn't want to have such an extremely long intro post (hence removing the RP backstory and moving it to the next post), because I'm pretty sure it will discourage potential new members from joining if they see that wall of text. I'll have a go-see if I can make it any shorter without removing anything essential.From post: 161469, Topic: tid=9867, author=Marcellus wrote:Read and approved the revisions made Viper, good stuff man.
Yes, good point. I forgot about that one because I'm probably using the payed-for version. Thanks for pointing it out.From post: 161462, Topic: tid=9867, author=Marvin wrote:The only problem with FRAPS, the free version, is the watermark it leaves at the top of your screen.

Edit: Seriously, I tried. But I simply seem unable to post anything without editing it. xD

Actually after a couple of hour to tested it, The programe is pretty easy to use, it's 100% free. The pay version include some bonus I don't see necessary for the moment. The only inconvenient I found is the quality of the shoot :s I have the impression film in 800*600 and the place take the video .... 30 sec 1GO :s
I have to check if I can change the quality or it's maybe like that for the free version?
[edit] I found how to change the quality of the video but it still not the quality than the game offer anyway I will start by that.
I had time to try some other program but the game have to be in window to process to the record so impossible in that case.
Anyway im working actualy to figure out with tuto video how to manage that.

I just found out about "MSI Afterburner".
I know it was first just for overclocking and performance boosting but newer versions let you
capture game video and its FREE.
NCHsoftware's "Debut Video Capture Software" seems pretty good. This is what Iron Man is using for video game capture.
Surprisingly, this is completely free also.
My computer just isn't fast enough for full screen full resolution game recording but this info might be useful for others
with faster computers.
I had only ever used fraps unregistered, 30 sec limit with watermark in the past.
Its good to know there are some free ones out there that are pretty good.

I've encountered, on the Olympus Prime Server, any station that I detonate "magically" reappears after about `30 seconds. Typically these are "FF" stations, or stations built by "FF" members. I've not tried this on any other server, nevertheless I have no explanation as to why this occurs. Any ideas?

I tried to find the software you mentioned, Pinnacle, but couldn't find anything relevant to desktop recording. I had "Free Screen Recorder" which is a contradiction in and of itself seeing as it was trial but failed to mention such. Being that I'm a miser with my $$$$, do you know of any software that is free and records with decent quality, preferably HQ/HD? In the meantime, I'll do some searching to see what I can find. Take care and see you out there.

I've used CamStudio to create a few test videos of EM. This software is actually 100% free with no watermarks on the vid. With a few simple adjustments in the "Video" option, I have produced video that is nearly the quality of the game itself. Since I use multiple monitors, I am able to capture the monitor that I choose which is a feature lacking in some of the other software that I've tried.
What I did in Video Options:
-Switch the compressor codec to "Intel" instead of Microsoft which allowed better resolution with no jitter.
-Drop video quality to 90% and frame-rate to 60FPS (from the 200 default)
Keep in mind that:
Both of my video cards are Nvidia GeForce 8400 gs 1gb. Less than great for gaming.
PCI-E Buses are overclocked by 25%
System Bus overclocked by 20% (Asynchronous OCing)
AMD Phenom II BE X 4 processor w/multiplier @18 = 3.9ghz
16gb DDR3 RAM @ 1.8ghz
HT Link @ 1.8ghz

Akenhaten, Iron Man, thanks for your help last night. I'm just a lonely noob wandering space on my own and I appreciate your help!
