Mouse Cursor = The mouse pointer, which is the targeting reticule that follows the mouse movements in EM.

I have the cursor box unchecked as well, but it still captures EM's mouse pointer. I had to crop it out of the screenshot I posted.

Acctnt, if you have the time to set up the screen shot, how ever you get there... If you can park your cursor/mouse pointer some where "off screen", it usually disappears in a few seconds. Usually. Same as does the chat screen/bar, along the left side of the screen. Then again, timing the event also depends on what ever else is going on in the photo environment, game/session/location wise. I usually park mine in the upper right hand corner of my HUD/display, then toggle thru the various view options via the kybd "H" & "V" toggles. And, using my joystick hat toggle to move the camera view aspect around to what may be pleasing of the moment of capture. I've got a print-screen button on my kybd, which I use for the capture. Then, I import the cap to MS Paint and save as a .png'er. 99.99% painless for me that way..which is real good. Don't haff ta fiddle wit nuttin...

I see what you are talking about. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen when the control method is Mouse Point. I will have to switch my control method to Keyboard when taking screenshots.

Two battleships and a Command ship in Merak, all the way out here hunting for pirates with 4 escorts ;_ ;

Needless to say, I collected my mining probe and scooted.

Before Vice corrected the collision routine you could walk through an asteroid! It shook you around like a kinetic cannon hit!

It's tricky now because it's very easy to slide off unless you land on a flat bit.

Love to, but we're back to USA - UK time differences!

Perhaps SeeJay will be able to take a few piccies in between writing his quest and keeping an eye on his sprogs :D

What you see are the best two piccies from dozens - controlling the TW forward motion - jump jets a the same time as hitting the screenshot hot key and watching the fuel level (or guessing if the HUD is switched off to stop the radar globe getting in the way!)

One thing I did notice when I muffed the landing or hit a steep part just as the jump jet ran out of fuel is that the upper part of the body section detaches from the rest of the TW for a second!

The view I set up was created by looking down so you could see me on top pf the asteroid. Looking forwards meant that the asteroid was out of view!!

The asteroid was partly embedded in the ground - big asteroids are too large to get on top of before the fuel runs out if they are floating above the ground. I also had to wait until the asteroid ploughed through higher ground or there is no way to get above them! I watched one asteroid disappear below ground and reappear as the ground level reduced!

Vice has set the collision distance to be a bit away from the asteroid surface so you can't actually touch them - if you stand in the way (ie they are travelling towards you) you get slowly pushed backwards! It does make staying on top for more than a couple of seconds very very hard! The asteroids are slowly rotating, just as they do in space, so you have to judge it right and aim for a dip in the surface just as it reached the top.

:cool: All of that is too too true. I just had a go at it, attempting to get on top of an asteroid hovering above the ground. So close and yet so far (5 more seconds of jump fuel, please!)

This is an odd little bug I've encountered several times. Usually just jumping a few sectors away and returning will resolve it, though there has been two occasions I've had to restart EM to fix it. O.o
