Evochron News Network Breaking News![/align]
Good day citizens of Evochron. This is ENN coming to you LIVE from Saphire with the new that matters!
Over the last few days local authorities have received numerous reports from clan leaders from different areas of the EvoVerse about the destruction of some of their trade stations. The first reports do not mention any suspects, but some of the more recent reports mention that some pilots from the Legion of the Lance clan have sighted and pursued a pilot flying under the callsign \'Agent X\' as they reportedly caught this pilot in the act. It is also mentioned more than once that pilots using a callsign similar to \'Vonari-...\' are suspected of committing these aggressive acts.
Members from the Freedom Fighters clan also claim to have some of their stations destroyed by pilots with callsign \'vonari-#\'.
Both clans have listed said pilots as \'KOS\', which means \'Kill On Sight\'.
ENN has made some inquiries with the Authorities, but they were not able to provide us with any specific information about these events, or the suspected pilots. They seem to be completely in the dark.
The official response was that an investigation to the reported destruction of the clan trade station is underway and that they were unable to comment on the matter any further, awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
Even though it has been a couple of weeks since the last reports of the \'ghost\' ships and stations, as some people have started to call them, there are those who believe that the infamous [X] Rebel Faction are behind the recent events. Upon inquiring, Naval intelligence responded that there is no proof that any particular faction might be solely responsible, but that investigators are checking out a number of clues. The [X] Rebel Faction, as well as some other loose organisations, are said to be on the suspect list.
We have not yet received any official word from a [X] Rebel Faction representative in response to this. In fact, no faction has yet claimed to be responsible for any of the recent events.
Judging by the events in the last weeks, it would almost seem as though space is a more dangerous place than we like to think. And if there were any doubts regarding the Authorities ability to keep the citizens of the EvoVerse safe, there surely are serious doubts now. One of the most clear signs that something is wrong is the fact that EvoSafe, one of the largest insurance companies in the EvoVerse, has announced that monthly fees for ship and station insurances will be raised with 25% starting next month. Other insurance companies will probably soon follow their example.
Economists are warning for a possible ripple effect through the EvoVerse economy, caused by this. If insurances are more expensive, traders and mercenaries will take more risk in their job looking for a higher profit to cover the bigger expenses. This will in turn increase the number of casualties in the border limits of the EvoVerse. It is also feared that a larger percentage of mercenaries will opt for less legal ways to make their living for the same reasons.
If this turns out to be true, it appears the Authorities are going to have their hands more than full, trying to investigate the destruction of the stations and dealing with a higher crime rate than normal. Let\'s hope things don\'t run out of control more than they already have.
This was ENN with a special new bulletin, thanks for watching. We will keep you updated with any news regarding this subject.
