Can't increase rep with the miners

I'm trying to get my rep up in Aquila, but the miners don't seem to recognize any progress in that regard. They're stuck at 75. The only mission type is to gun down other ships, which gets me nowhere, and I have no idea how much I'm supposed to bribe them to get some progress (if it even works for friendlies). They seem to be the only thing preventing me from getting a global rep increase.

I'm not sure about this miners. They seem to get stuck at a certain point for me too.

Just out of interest.
What are the other factions % at and what is the current Overall global rep level?

dont worry about the miners to get a rep increase.

get energy and navy to 100%
get rebels to 0%
when guild is down below 10% your rep will increase
lowering guild will raise miners anyway.

also, all reputation work must be done in single player,
any work done in multiplayer will not stick

It was my understanding that faction reps could change in mp just not system reps.

Yes. This is true.
Your Overall system level, moderate, fair etc will never change in MP.
Factions levels will change though and they can be make to stick in MP as well as SP.

I have done several systems without ever leaving MP. I have even been leaving the system before going to SP to check "overall Level", then returning to the system to find factions levels have changed to a default level.
I then went to SP to see the overall level is indeed "Good" but factions have reset to a defaul level for "good" overall.

Doing reputations in MP might be tricky though.
The problem is to know when it is safe to leave the system and have factions stick to a default level.

Easier enough if you are going all the way to "good" overall.
Navy and Energy at 100%
Rebels and guild to 0%
Miners as high as they will go until they don't move any longer.
Once factions are at that level you can save and reload into SP to check if you want. I believe it in not necessary but its safer to do so before moving on to the next system.

Currently have them at 100 for good, 10 for bad.

1 = Rebel contract to spy on a capital ship (Navy)
2 = Rebel contract to destroy capital ship (Navy) and escort
3 = Navy contract to patrol and destroy Rebels; multi-waypoint
4 = Guild contract to deliver goods to a capital ship (Guild)
5 = Navy contract to patrol and destroy Rebels
6 = Navy contract to destroy Guild ace and escort
7 = Guild contract to destroy a capital ship (Navy) and escort
8 = Navy contract to escort capital ship (Navy)
9 = Guild contract to deliver goods to a capital ship (Guild)
10 = Miner contract to destroy Guild ships
11 = Rebel contract to destroy a disabled capital ship (Navy) and escort
12 = Guild contract to destroy a capital ship (Navy); need not destroy escort
13 = Energy contract to clean a solar array
14 = Navy contract to recover an item (cargo, satellite or escape pod)*
15 = Energy contract to deliver goods to a capital ship (cargo or satellite)*
16 = Navy contract to locate a lost item
17 = Miner contract to clear an asteroid field
18 = A race against time
19 = A race against another pilot (Navy)
20 = Energy contract to mine 25 units of a specified item

Number 10 is a Miner contract. Doing it increases your reputation with the Miners.

10 for bad? Do you mean Rebels and Guild are at 10%?

Focus on them first before miners and I think it will switch over to the next overall level soon enough.

Yeah, 10 for rebels/guild. I'll try knocking them down to zero. More than enough kill things contracts for that.

Ran five of those in a row with no increase. Guild went down, but miners stayed stuck at 75.

No asteroid fields in Aquila (that I know of), and ace missions are always supplied by the other factions.

:cool: Aces are guild pilots. Killing guild pilots puts you in good stead with Miners ... but they are a suspicious lot and exact a heavy burden of proof.

Finally got a rep boost by getting guild and rebels below 5. It figures that the miners would jump up to 80 after that. Now maybe I can cash in on Aquila's demand for platinum without having to shoot down an entire squadron.

if you raise your global rep to good in SP,
the benefits will carry over to MP

I raised my rep in pearl to good in SP
now when im in pearl in MP, my rep is moderate
but most all navy, energy and miners are green and do not attack

Yep, and you don't even need to go into SP to do that.
If you raise your faction reps to the right level the benefits will carry over to SP. Next time you load into SP it will be Good overall.
