I think I'm heading out....
Gonna attempt to run to SOL....again, tried it last night but ran out of fuel...oops
I'm going out of Sirius, have some cordinates and I just autopilot there with my Fulcrum C5, but this time I grapped a deploy and build constructor for fuel.
Is there a quicker way to get to SOL? browsed SeeJay's map a bit but didn't find anything on there yet, but then again I didn't look all that hard.

I think SeeJays map holds a shorter secret way to get there. It's not news to long time players but not in any new quests that I know of.

The shorter way is multistage and in a way longer - I agree with Marvin - straight from Sirius is the easiest and in a way shortest

Yeah I was thinking the scenic route would be better.....I don't like complicated things hahaFrom post: 134832, Topic: tid=9188, author=Marvin wrote:Yes, there is a shorter way ... but it's much more complicated. I prefer to fly direct from Sirius ... it doesn't take that long.

It is only complicated when you do not know how. Once you have the solution it is simple, relatively speaking of course!....

What ? 72 hops too long ? A blip, a jump, a roller-coaster ride? The proper drive and sufficient fuel pods not an option ? Or the old stand-bys: delpoy or build constructors ? Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka becon. What box ?

I'm just curious. Why is flying straight to Sol quicker from Sirius than from Alpha Centauri. Sol is -1050, -5050.
Sirius is -2500, -3700 while alpha centauri is -1300, -3700.
From those coords, it looks like it would be quicker from AC than from Sirius. And actually is should be as in the real world (which I took this to be simulating) Alpha is closer to Sol than Sirius is.
Just wondering.

Hi Janus
As Marvin said there is a small but significant error in the Alpha-C coordinates.
The actual linear fly distances are 1840 from Sirius and 2710 from Alpha-C
I wonder if it is worth creating a small Excel calculator so that people can find the linear distances between any two points in the Evoverse. The maths is easy enough - basic trig

EDIT: oops testing adding a file - I doubt if anyone really wants a gun shadow file though

Barnard's Star passed through Sol system? That would be a catastrophe of major proportions. What they call an ELE; Extinction Level Event. For all life on Earh anyway. Of course that's what colonizing other planets os for. To safeguard the human race.
As for the coordinates, I got them from the Map, but DaveK said there is a bug in the map (which I dnd't know about), but I just started playing 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it. Curiosity satisfied:D

Hi - I've used a modded quadrant map without coordinates for a couple of years now. Sorry if I wasn't clear - I wasn't saying that the in-game quadrant map was wrong, just that Alpha-C's Sx coordinate should be 1300 rather than -1300; the positive means that it is East of Sapphire (@ 000) and negative means it's West. From post: 135316, Topic: tid=9188, author=Janus wrote: As for the coordinates, I got them from the Map, but DaveK said there is a bug in the map (which I dnd't know about), but I just started playing 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I've just checked a print out of the NavMap that I got from the Legends Guide and it is correct - looks like a (very easy to make) transcription error
A final check! - I took my HUD Mod out to get back to the original maps - The quadrant map is correct in EM as well

My mistake. It is 1300 (positive, not negative). Now I see what my mistake was. Sorry. DoHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Hate when I embarrass myself like this.
