Mods & Sticky maybe?

Post by ACBlack »

Hello to all scripters and Modders...

I think that any game that has an active Mod community is a game that will continue to be around and great, for a very long time. I am an old man that has no xp at ALL in this area, but using them U bet I do... To visually enhance the game is to enjoy the xp in game.

Moderators:

It would be great if this community could have a Sticky to put their Mods into so that they and others looking, (ppls like me) can find them easyer. Would also give the Modders a place for their updates to be posted, as the owner of the post can edit and add to it :)

Running I7 Win7 64bit
6gb ram
n460 gtx
x58-pro-e

This is what I have come across in reading, downing and testing in the order that I got them. ALL mods are used in the JGME v2.6.0.157.

Game is through Steam.

MODS Installed

groenelampkap
HDR
Environments

Leatherpoker
ENB Series Bloom
Tiny Trees Mod
High Detail Capital Ships
Enhanced Nebulae Mod

Both Leatherpocker and groenelampkap seem to have the same Nebulae pics, dont care which one took, love them :) Guessing Leatherpocker because it was next in line sorry groenelampkap :(

=======================================

Maximilien
Hud3
Cockpit
Great to look at and very easy with trackir. Even the shine from the suns reflection on the dash :( But still will not turn it off in config.

ECC01
Planetary Rings

very well done totally belongs in the game.

FinalFrontier
Starfield MOD

4GB Patch a must after last mod install. No crashes but did note the FR drop of 6.

Mojo
Asteroids

slamscape
Colored Armor Pack download (even if I am the only one that can see them, it is the game eye candy that I go for)

Not able to get to run :(

Full_Source_v0.8--Map Log
followed readme and just no go, will continue to work on it.

I just wanted to thank ALL of the people with the talent that can do these things, as it makes the game much more enjoyable.

For the Atollskis Navdata, start with an empty Map Log!

Great collection here btw.;)

Try the 'Executable only v1.0' available in this post (it says v0.9).

I am just guessing SeeJay that the game starts with an empty log? If not can someone tell me how to make a new one

BvP downloading the 1.0 will post if it works Thanks.

 IIRC, the log is a text file ... you can use Notepad to create one.

Here is a navdata file that seems to work with v1.0
http://bs.beckament.net/files_pub/evochron/navdata.txt

It may have some spoilers in it.

Here is a directory with some other versions, I think I got them from the 1.0 full source.

Mods & Sticky maybe?

Post by ACBlack »

Hi All thanks for all the help, replys and files... I am not sure how to make the thing work, ingame, so I got into reading the forums for some answers... Got side slapped by another problem.

Came across some pics of Maximilien's Hud3 & Cockpit mods that I have installed. I was looking at the cockpit and yup that is the one, then started looking at the Hud. Not the right one that I have been using.

So started to do some checking and this is what I found.

Using the JGME only
Downloaded both Hud3 and Cockpit from links provided. Unzipped and placed into the MODS folder in main EM game.
Files look like so
01_Maximilien_Cockpit - Cockpit - Hud - pics (16)

01_Maximilien_Hud3 - Hud - pics (73)

Hud works fine but the Cockpit is gone..

So I took the inner folders out:

Now
Files look like so
01_Maximilien_Cockpit - Hud - pics (16)

01_Maximilien_Hud3 - pics (73)

The cockpit and hud are there both there, but the HUD is NOT the one in the pics in download or from the first setup. Guessing the default hud.

What am I doing wrong

Edit: seems that the Cockpit and hud bottom panels do not fit together. So I am keeping the Cockpit and not using the hud.. shame nice hud :(

:o There should be no sub-folders inside the "hud" folder. All files, both graphic and .X files, should go directly into the "hud" folder.

Thankyou very much Marvin, when the downloads contain both Hud and Cockpit folders, I assumed that they did not go to the same folder Thanks. Have now combined them into one Mod 01_Maximilien_Hud3_Cockpit_Hud all works great :P

 You're a faster learner than I was. It took a couple years just for Denny to convince me JSGME was worth the download.

LOL Marvin I found it easyer to use the mod installers then doing it myself. Keep that knowledge M8 we may need it someday :o;)I have a problem with the cosmetics in game. I really like the cockpit by Maximilien blue and the Hud fixes by Viper. So now I would like to combine the 2. I really like defined lines that my old eyes can see and with the high res mesh in the cockpit lighting is not the problem heheh.

Guess I am going to need learn how to :D:P

 The nice thing about JSGME is you can mix and match. Being an old Trekkie, it was easier for me to just use Final's version as the basic cockpit and console mod ... and then overlay any small changes I wanted to make (mixing the blue and light blue HUD buttons, for example).
