Hi and welcome crille.

Try this link. http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegen ... lguide.htm
It's for Legends but work for Mercenay as well.

You can also use Atollskis program for exploring.

My site might help you as well, but be warned, it's a spoiler to.;)

Good luck!

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a walkthru for finding hidden objects. You get a heading and pitch from your Science Officer ... the techniques for using that data vary. But a good compass and pitch ladder will usually come in handy.

Eclipse pointed out a good way of finding stuff like containers - drop a sensor station and check the sector map for a purple object. If no luck, scuttle it and move along the heading and pitch to a new location and repeat.
Like exploring? - Ver. 1.0 (13/02/2011) What is this?

 Keep in mind that, if you use a sensor, it will scuttle itself when you leave the sector to get a pitch and heading. So it's a good idea to first jump toward the purple dot (check both Front View and Rear View before jumping) then, if you don't see the container (jumping being not as accurate when you can't target an object with right-clicking), you can leave the sector and jump back without worrying about the loss of the sensor array.

:o Did that make any sense at all?

Hi crille.

Quote from game instructions:
"The mining and tractor beams are some of the most important devices in the game. They let you mine for valuable material, recover cargo from destroyed ships, retrieve photon particles from stars and nebulae, and recover items from cargo containers. There is a general purpose device and four material specific devices (metal ore, diamonds, platinum, and gold)."

- I don't know if you can install more than one, haven't tried it. (I don't think you can)
- The difference is that if you have a gold beam installed it only mines gold.
- I don't know if they mine all resources, haven't tried it.

Hope it helped some anyway.;)

the only thing a have notice is that if a buy platinum beam a can still mine resources like water oxygen but not any of metal ore, diamonds, and gold)

but would it not be more simple if the there only is one beam but different levels like 1-5 with diffrent speeds to mine, and that you can choose what resources you like to mine in the inventory

a think that is more simple, were can one send one's ideas to the creators to the game??

He reads the forum so I think he will pick it up right here.

You can increase your mining speed if you move your beam slightly all the time.
I park my ship so the asteroid is rotating making my beam "move" over the surface.
Hire a science ops is also improving mining.

Hi crille.

The only way I know of to increase your reputation is doing contracts.
Normally I do contracts for the Navy or Miners to increase reputation.

You can store a ship in the Hangar of a station or city.
(You pay a Hangar fee for storing ships and/or equipment)

When you construct a station you will automatically get a license to it,
that means you will get a discount buying stuff there.

Yes.

Leave Pearl. That is a very hostile area. If you are unexperienced in fighting,
try Olympus or Talison systems. Talison WZ if you want military contracts.
Is it the IMG quest you are doing?

Also it's easier to do contracts in MP, since you can team up with other players
and do them together. Much more fun as well.

The IMG is made to teach you most aspects of the game.
There is also money to make here. I really suggest that you do
it. I learned a lot when I started to play.

You really need to go to an easier system as I suggested. The enemies are not that hard
as they are in Pearl. When you improve your fighting skills, you can move on to more
difficult systems.

I don't really understand that question, but this is how it works.

When you "store" your ship in the hangar, it saves a "copy" of your ship there. You
can still fly away with the ship you're in and buy a ship somewhere else if you want.

When you buy a new ship all your weapons/equipment and cargo transfers to the new ship. (You keep them).

You can have a ship stored in every station/city if you want, but it will cost you a fee for every station/city.

Hope this answers you question.

No, you can't have more than the one you are flying.

However, you can dock with other computer controlled ships using the F4 (trade console).
In here you can hire them to your fleet. That way you can have multiple ships following you.

I wouldn't trust them to protect you since you need to do some fighting as well.
They will help you in the fight.

 You can also hire another ship ... or a fleet of ships. You do it by targeting a ship, pressing F4, and clicking on the option asking if the targeted ship wants to join up.
