Is there a map of the insides of caves and of where the WH are of hidden systems?

If there isn't a map of the inside of the caves I think it would be cool if you had something that made a map while you explore a cave so you don't get lost in them.

SeeJay's site (with the programme Evometrics) has maps of everyting discovered - it is a spoiler though so be careful you don't spoil it for yourself.

MapLog lets you create your own map of the Evoverse - there are maps and instructions (clear and easy from Marvin!) available from SeeJay's site that have lots and lots of detail in and one that just has the charted systems. If you can avoid looking at the info too hard, you could add the stuff you want to the basic database and not spoil it too much. The programme also has a triangulation system built in to help discover uncharted systems (of which there are a great many) if you want the fun of exploring. It also lets you specify a destination anywhere in the Evoverse and plots the waypoints via the gates that you need so that you don't have to keep entering coordinates manually or looking them up on the Nav map

I'm not sure how easy it would be to programme an asteroid cave 3D plotting and map display system on such a small scale object. It would have to link into the programme, pull coordinates very accurately and keep track of tunnel section starts and ends to be able to join them up into the 3D maze and plot your position and direction as well! MapMan (who we haven't heard from for a while produced EvoMetrics, so he might be willing to have a go at this. As Marvin says, a LRUD list with pencil and paper might be easier though

:)

Here it is: http://evochron.junholt.se/

Check the download section for EvoMetrics to download.
In that one you can add stuff yourself.;)

 If you want to go to MapMan's updated map, click somewhere near the center of the page (after your cursor turns into a little hand with the finger pointing up). If you want to check out other parts of Seejay's website, click on one of the buttons listed on the left-hand side.

To get the tracking to work, you must download the program.
The online version doesn't work in IE. (My experience anyway, I use Google Chrome).
The online is a pure map only.
Here I explain how to use/setup the download version:

Hi MMaggio

Are you seeing a screen with a map of the universe on the LHS, a set of buttons down the middle (zoom out, reset etc) and a lisat of "visible objects" on the rhs?

If NO - down load the program from SeeJay's site and run it.

If YES: The lhs map is divided into four quarters, each of which is further divided in to a 5x5 grid - double click into an empty small square in the lower lh quarter (where all the systems except Andromeda are located - the whole map now zooms into that quarter

NEXT: (for the sake of this "demo") double click into an empty small square in the lower left hand quarter and it will zoom in again and show 95% of Evochron (the Talison and Cerulean Warzones are off the top of the map)

NEXT: Single click on the small green blob labelled Sol - A green circle appears with the X, Z coordinates; - more detail is fiven at the upper RH side of the window; in the "visible object" list click on the entry for Rucker - the green circle moves to Rucker. You can move around the map by clicking on the blobs or choosing from the list.

NEXT: go back and double click on the blob for Sol - the map zooms into the Sol system - most of the stuff in in the top LH quarter of the map - notice that the list of visible objects has changed to show Stuff in Sol

NEXT click on the upper right hand quater of the map - again we zoom in; single click on any planet visible - again detailed coordinates are at the top RH side of the window

You can continue to double click on any quarter to zoom in (until a max zoom is reached); at any point double clicking on the "zoom-out" button takes you back one step; double clicking on "reset" takes you back to the whole universe

Lets get this part working for you then we can deal with tracking :)

I get the first part as you describe. Whenever I click on anything, I get a downloading page, but it stops downloading after only one or two bars and just sits there.
Doesn't matter which Icon or where I click. The results are the same. A page appears to open, but never finishes loading even after several minutes.
You must remember "stuff happens to me that does not happen to other people".
Vice always makes sure that downloads are "Mikey-proof" before releasing to the public.
I am sure it works for some if not all others, and I am prepared to accept that this is another of those strange oddities that live inside my computer. :(:(

MMaggio - are you trying to use the programme directly on SeeJays site or are you trying to download the standalone version for use on your own PC?

 SeeJay has two links ... I always start at his "old" website. The other link is to MapMan's page. If you're using one of your older computers to enter MapMan's page, it will take forever (bring a lunch) to load completely. And, if you then try to zoom in on one quadrant, bring dinner and a cordial. No kidding.

I don't know about multiple sites. I just used the site as listed in post by Airassasin dated 7/31. Other URL's I have not tried.

Hi MMaggio

The most important bit of info I need to try to help is to know whether you are running the version you download and install on your PC or you are using the one on SeeJay's website that you use in your internet browser.

Another useful piece of info is to know how many frames per second you get when you are playing the game; press the tilde key and it's the first of the three numbers that appear (the one that is easier to read because it changes more slowly :) ) - top left ahnd side in SP and top right hand side in MP

I think I got it to work good enough for me lol. I'm going to see if I can get it to track me later but because I don't have 2 screens and I only explore like this with a builder I don't need it to tell me how much fuel I have.

Thanks MMaggio - I thought that the problem was with downloading the programme to use on you PC - it's obviously about the speed the website programme responds. I'll delete the irrelevant posts above :P

MMaggio - which browser to you use? I use Firefox and it works fine - but some sites are a bit sensitive and need Internet Explorer. If you use something else other than Firefox or IE it might be an issue. :)
