I'm playing Renegades.
I've upgraded my ship hull to a capital
and I'm in the Thuban (AKA T880) system
I take a contract to patrol an area and kill X enemies and I can't find enough enemies. When I first arrive there are some but not enough to finish the contact. I cruise the area for hours. I mean it, I sit and read book waiting for more enemies to show up. I pause the game to go to bed and come back the next day and do the same thing. Greens and yellows will come and go but no reds. Navy and energy will drop by but no guild or rebels. Is there a trick to get bad guys to come out and play?
A distress signal to lure them in? A cheat code or something? I'm stuck. I don't want to leave the system because I've almost promoted my rating to the next level.
EDIT: After about 12 hours of coasting suddenly something happened and reds started coming out of the woodwork. I had 3 on radar when one came close enough to fire a missle at, which finished my contract and also granted me a new reputation level. But I'm leary of starting to work on gaining the next level. I really don't want to have to spend this much time floating with nothing to do while I wait on someone to come put up a fight.

Hi Rhaba, welcome to the game and forum!.....Hope to see you out there some time!.....

Yes, in Renegades it can be tricky getting to the next reputation level. The closer you get to the reputation level change threshold the harder it becomes to find reds to change the rep level. One thing to try is once you are very close to the threshold is to leave the sector and or system, do a few contracts in another system and then go back and continue with reputation level change in the system you where originally in!....

That is a good suggestion, as long as one is not in the middle of a contract. You don't want to fail a contract by docking to get another or jumping to somewhere to far away.
I've discovered something interesting. That when I cross the line on the map into another sector that suddenly lots of reds show up. Must be something about the game code. I'll RP it by saying that when I move into another patrol area that the enemy ships assigned there come over to intercept me.
So bottom line, when I can't get anyone to play yet I still need some more to finish my contract that the thing to do is coast into the adjacent area and that should fix it.
