Can you fly a corvette?

I have a sudden huge and implacable urge to fly a corvette class ship*, in something other than Independence War 2, and I've already beaten Dark Stark One several times in the heavy hull config.

I can across this game in my searches, and the build your own is promising. Can you build a corvette in this game, and would it be viable?

I see an asterisk ... but no reference to it. Concerning Corvettes, you can't own one in either EL or EM. The insurance on anything that souped up would be prohibitive.

Some one is having you on. Sadly, there are currently NO Corvette-class ships available for construction/employment in any of the Evo-verse offerings. Most probably, the closest one could get to that hull-type would be the Chimera/Leviathan/Starmaster genre. Take your pick. There is much to recommend each. Conversely, each have their particular draw-backs. Knowing which is half the battle.

The Heavy Metal Corvette is a classic two-seater. It would make a perfect mod as a retro-type fighter craft. Ship and cockpit.
