KING ARTHURS PERCH MODS
I "ReUlpostered" the "PERCH" in the ROYAL COLORS GOLD, MAROON and BLUE, with a Few Decoritive Touches as Well.
2 Questions. 1) How can I See ALL of the Cockpit and 2) How Can I Spread the GAME Readouts (Alt,Hull,Grav,etc) Out More so they aren't so Close to the Pitch Bar.

I Decided on a more EARTH TONE Throne Like Seat so I Eliminated the BLUE ArmRests for a LIGHT COCO LEATHER. lol. I Also Decided that GOLD GUN BARRELS Would Be Appropriate.
I Also went ahead with CHROME/GOLD Trimed SCREENS
Does anyone have a File to ELIMINATE the REFLECTION from the ccpit.x ( the 3 DASH SCREENS) Screens?

the hud-readouts you figured your self, if i read that right. the positions can't be changed atm, correct?
moving the struts: thats doable, but i'm not sure an intersection of cockpit geometry and hud is entirely avoidable with this kind of design.
tilting, etc.
seeing all of the cockpit:
how do you mean that?
1. ingame: i built and optimized that thing with a resolution of 1680x1050. a smaller resolution leads to a cut off rear. you see less if looking backwards.
if you fly downwards-left while looking over your right shoulder upwards with mouselook (? i didn't play for a while), you should find a coffemachine and the pipeworks. thats the end.
2. out of game: i posted a tool in the perch thread, page 2, pretty much at the bottom, as well as an alternative file format for the geometry.
this allows you to see all of whats actually there. (and will help a lot with testing texture mods since you don't have to restart the game permanently)
actually i wanted to have that little texture guide finnished by now, but the unexpected... .
the merrier to see the first perch mod.

another tool, which lets you view the .X files in the perch's hud folder. use 'load directX mesh' from the file menue.
the perch works different than the max cockpit and older mods:
i think the gauge reflections (the glare that disturbes you) usually is part of the ccpireflect.X and uses its own textures.
not so with perch.:
the gauges are mapped on the center of the spartan display.
(where you see the greenish static map ingame)
so the spartan screen as well as all 3 gauges share the same uv space on the basemap.jpg.
this is suboptimal but space was rare.
the way it reflects is controlled by the basespec.jpg.
black = non-glossy.
optionally i added 3 textures (gaugeLight*.jpg) for flavours.

Perch cockpit is awesome! I tried it and now I am saving it for my military frames and combat missions. Currently using Vipers dash - I think that it suits my Starmaster and exploring better - sleek, minimalist, designer cockpit for a big ship.
Ijon, your military TIE-fighter cockpit will take place in my lightweight mil framed killer soon! (original textures ofc, not this golden circus, sorry)

@ijon. Thanks for the Help My Friend. I Found the 3 "Panels" on the basemap and Made them BLACK to Eliminate the Glare From the Displays. My Resolution IS 1680 x 1050. I'll Keep Playing with the mouselook, trying out your recomendations, and See if I can See.lol.
BTW. I've been Testing the SHIELD IMPACT Blur Using the MAX COCKPIT v PERCH. I Have Found that They are Virtually Equal in Coverage and Intensity during PvP.

@DaveK. Just Let Me know via Email, Which Cockpit You Like and I'll send you the Files (compass, compassshadow,ccpitblue1,2,3,basemap,basespec and base normal). Just Pop them into your Curent "hud" folder after removing your Current Files and you're good to Go.

I Thought the MILITARY PERCH was a Little too Monochromatic So I Added a little Touch of Copper and Gold. The CENTRE CONSOLE also Looked a Little "Vague" so I Clad it in BRONZE and Added My Own TEXT.

MY BLUE STEEL PERCH. I Started with ALL BLUE Materials but The Semi-Monochrome Look didn't Look that Good so I Added so Stainless Steel to the PERCH.
My Next PERCH will Be the BLACK KNIGHT PERCH. This Should Prove to Be Most Difficult. It will Require Me to Create Anodized Black Metals as Well a Other Black Materials with a "Sheen" so it Will Still Be Visible Against the Black of Space.
