instead of any announcements, let me check the climate:
who here would be interested in a collaborative project? - nothing less but an alternative face for evochron.

modelers, texture artists, noise makers, thinkers, writers, nerds and weirdos. as well as freshlings.

I do not know much but i am trying to learn, i can put my hands on texturing and concept ideas until now (learning on perch project).

what did you have in mind ?, a full makeover ?
I have modderate modeling and textureing skills and several high dollar modeling programs

photoshop
3dsmax
lightwave 9
rhino with flamingo (very cool modeling program)
various conversion tools
and lol fsds 3 (flight sim design studio)

if you followed the perch development post - thats the anchor.

more cockpits for new frames are imaginable as well.

in my head i see a more martial design of ships, components and stations. if you enjoy looking at oil rigs.. refineries or cement works. like this. borg meets reapers meets bsg meets minmatar.
new technologies: away from wings and classic aerodynamics, towards more scifi, including a reasonable new tech background.
and then what ever happens and what others suggest and contribute. as far as we can go- as deep as we can get.

planning and prototyping all this should allready be great-
the idea of creating a pipeline within a loose network of people from all over the world, using different tools, makes my synapses tickle.

em is very limited in what you can mod,

some models, textures and sounds.
you cant add a new device or alter the game physics in any way
so i imagine there will be some things you wont be able to do

otherwise i would be glad to help

I love the Perch BTW! The texture work and overall design is phenominal! The visual aspect of it looks really looks the exact opposite of what some people refer to as 'cartoon' colors.

I don't have any visual arts or progamming/modding skills :(, but I do make guitar/bass noize:). IDK if you are considering sound tracks, but I could potentially contribute if a person who does modern composing gets involved. :cool:

Also my Personal opinion after seeing the Perch project is that if it were feasible, I'd like to see you and Letoras directly collaborate with Vice for the Hard Coded game artwork!:cool:

we can change all ships, ship mods and sounds, huds, appearance of space, warps, engine glows... possibly stations, descriptions, planet flora... more. even the buttons, according to the custom kit.
quite a package in my oppinion. its not X3; but even there limits are usually in peoples heads first.

sure. isn't there a post about crytec for example? we won't be able to use this engine for parts of the game.. but who forbids cinematic trailers? or well, new soundtracks.

think out of the box again. infamous actions.
the force is strong with this game.

I think I could make a good add on to an 'orchestra' of sorts, but I don't think I'd be able to get the right 'feel' for EM by myself. Let's see who else chimes in and maybe we can get something going!:)

And the 'flowers' as you put it are well deserved.:) Perch is very detailed, has nice photo-realistic qualities and is surprisingly 'light' on processing demands. :cool:

This thread makes me pee in my spacesuit from joy!!!!!!!!
A big conversion of this fantastic game????

I can provide my animation skills ( but in such a game there is no demanding animation ).

My texture skills are newborn ( perch project is my first mod ever)...

Always wanted to be part of such project, especially when it comes to space concept but i am half skilled to make something on my own.

ljon helped me a lot in that with the perch, i would love to participate amigos

:cool: I can script, using the quest file as a model, but my interests are more along the lines of retro-scifi. Nonetheless, I'd be happy to troubleshoot any problems you might have when (and if) you get to the point where you want to create a story line.
