1. When a buddy fires up a game and I join, if the server closes will the stations we built still be there?

A side problem with this is that after he built an Ore Refinery, I jumped into the system and couldn't see him or the station he built. Server desync?

2.When my science officer says this planet or this asteroid field has valuable resources.....does he mean I will get more platinum than metal or more gold than ( whatever else it is you get off planets)?

3. When a science officer tells me there's a container in this sector, does he mean in the square that I am currently occupying? I can get the general idea with which way i need to face and at what pitch, but they're so small I could blow right past it.

4. Hidden systems and what not -- Would they be the systems that occupy spaces that you come into when you simply FLY from system to system instead of using jumpgates? All I've seen so far are empty expanses until I run out of fuel =D Also, are they random from server to server or are all the derelict ships and hidden systems all pre-arranged?

1. The Stations build in Multiplay should still be there next time you join the Server program. Stations build online during a Multi Play sessions will not show up in Single Play session!

2. No, the Science officer just makes a general statement to let you know the planet can be mined and the value of the resources is relative to the system you are in. But generaly speaking platinum, gold and diamonds have the highest value anywhere!

3. No, he means the Sector which consists of 16 little squares similar to the one you are in! And there are some tips in DaveK's hints and tips how to locate those containers!

4. There are many Systems that are of the beaten tracks(Jumpgate Systems). Then there are several (5) hidden planets in those of the beaten track systems that will have the name of unknown! All Servers have the same Universe file. The only difference between different Servers are the Player build objects and clan Stats!.

And oh yes, Hi Lordunholy, welcome to the game and forum!....Hope to see you out there some time!.....;)

 SeeJay has a spreadsheet program at his website whereby you enter information taken from the Science Officer to find containers

Thanks for the answers guys. A few more if I may...

For the uncharted systems like U477 of F940 for example.....what's the best way to get to these? I'm not sure if I'm reading the map correctly. I see that they are both "east" of Olympus Prime, so do I just autopilot that way until I run into them? Or is there a way easier system for getting to the unlisted systems?

 Autopilot is the way to go. Start from the closest star system, plug the coordinates into your Destination windows, set your energy weapons to maximum (-5S/5W), point toward the Nav point, engage inertial ... and activate autopilot. But, before you begin the trip, make sure you have enough fuel (either that or a Deploy/Build constuctor).

Edit: Also, keep your Nav map open and zoomed all the way out. When the destination system appears, disengage autopilot and plot a manual jump.
