And it's delivering tacos.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/2 ... 75842.html

THIS is not a joke.

Here for anyone too lazy to click (the exact kind of people this has been invented for):

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's an unmanned drone helicopter shooting a taco from space down at you and your colleagues during lunchtime! The Internet is going wild for Tacocopter, perhaps the next great startup out of Silicon Valley, which boasts a business plan that combines four of the most prominent touchstones of modern America: tacos, helicopters, robots and laziness.Indeed, the concept behind Tacocopter is very simple, and very American: You order tacos on your smartphone and also beam in your GPS location information. Your order -- and your location -- are transmitted to an unmanned drone helicopter (grounded, near the kitchen where the tacos are made), and the tacocopter is then sent out with your food to find you and deliver your tacos to wherever you're standing. You pay online, so the tacos are simply dropped off at your feet by the drone helicopter, which then flies back to the restaurant to pick up its next order.

My question is, do you have to tip the tacopter (i know it says tacocopter but isnt tacopter better?) If anyone here lives around San Francisco it is your duty to order a taco from this and report back to us on efficiency.

The strategy behind Skynet's creation was to remove the possibility of human error and slow reaction time to guarantee fast, efficient response to me needing TACOS!! :P:P:P

 If the tacocopter infringes on your airspace as it makes its way toward a delivery ... can you can shoot it down and claim the booty for yourself?

Got very excited - Flying Pizza in the UK becoming a reality rather than just a name - read the rest of the article . . .

How sad is that thing that "American freedom and the GAD" has become. How sad that Obama has nothing better to do than support the Elf & Safety Police! 100% crash free - just like real airlines you mean!

So my money making social service of pizza's to your feet (and not accidently dropped there when you fumble opening the box!) lies in tatters - UK H&SPF are even more unreal than the USA.

:o Had it not been for the "Safety Police," we would've been on Mars long ago. But they boycotted NASA's plan to launch nuclear powered rockets ... claiming pretty much the same thing: if one failed on launch, it would spread radioactivity all across the world (or thereabouts). The launch pad and tower still stand on the edge of Yucca Flats in Nevada.

Surely they could have arranged to have it come down somewhere in the Middle East in the event of an emergency at launch? :P
