Question about Economy

Post by opiumskittles »

So my friend and I just got this game for some co-op pew pews and space exploration and whatnot and we're slowly figuring things out. It's a pretty awesome game.

Unfortunately, my friend is obsessed with economies in games and he manged to find the economy tab in the quadrant map mode. Now he's pretty focused on attempting to make the economy in Sapphire improve from red.

So we've done some quick searches and haven't really come up with anything yet. So since everyone seems pretty welcoming around here I figured I figured I'd make a quick post to ask.

Is it possible to improve the economy of a given quadrant through trading and whatnot?

You will not be able to change the overall economy level for systems like that.
You can boost the economy or is it the tech level inside sectors though.
Build research, energy and ore support stations in the sector with your Trade station. This will boost prices and the availability of high tech equipment in the sector.
You can build one of each type of station in a sector.

This isn't going to make anywhere in Sapphire a place to buy a mantis drive though, I don't think so?
It just ups the level a little from what it was at default.

Around places like Altas is a good place to boost level with support stations to make available higher tech items.
Prices will go up a fair bit with support stations in the sector too.
