Steam problem after update.

Hello people!!!! Yesterday em had an update through steam, i downloaded it an played for a while. Today i tried to to play multiplayer but is says i need to update the game to join the server.....is there something i can do?

Make sure to launch the game from Steam (in case you had installed an independent build earlier). Verify the version number in the main menu displays 1.828.

I checked and i have version 1.808

Strange isn't it??

Maybe they roll out updates in stages? Not sure why that would happen. Try this:

Right click on the game in your library > click on Properties > click on the Local Files tab > click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache

Then see if the update is received.

steam is slow and won't be able to update as quickly as Vice makes changes. No offense to steam, but Vice is really one his game 24/7.

If needed, you can install the direct download version and run it independently until your Steam build updates.

Yesterday after the update it worked, today i have the problem.
Can i install the client from the games site and play? Will i use the same key from steam?
