Sound Problems

Post by Odeken »

Hello, I am having two problems that I can not figure out how to correct. The first problem is that when I enter the game I get looping sounds that makes it so annoying I can't play the game. I just bought this game today but when I started I didn't have this problem, it just started suddenly and now every time I start up the game it has the same problem.

Second problem I am having is that FRAPS won't record the in game sound, but it records the screen just fine. It is pointing to the right speakers and everything, but I tried to record it to show you guys the looping noises and it was just silence.

My sound card and headset is the Xonar Xense.

Here is a picture of my card's settings:

The first problem is apparently pretty common in a variety of games with that particular type of sound card (Xonar). The solution seems to be disabling the GX mode. Why fraps won't record the sound though may be something else (but changing that setting might help there also).

Ah thank you for the quick reply. I have had this in other games but there has always been a quick fix, I tried this and it seemed to work!
I don't understand the fraps thing tho, I make plenty of videos and I know that fraps records what goes in my headset, but there is no sound when I play the video (except my microphone).

Is this on a Win7 machine? If so, I'd check your audio device list for recording and maybe try enabling the stereo mix device. It will be hidden by default, so you have to right click on a blank area in the list, then click on the 'Show Disabled Devices' option. It should then appear and you can enable it for testing or return it to disabled if it doesn't work. Also, in Fraps, make sure the Record Win7 sound option is checked.
