Just had a recurring crash issue which may be related to an in-game bug that bit me.
I logged onto the USS server (well tried) and it Crashed to desktop after loading reached 100% with the following message:
'Runtime Error 506 - Could not load image at line 66315.
CWD:E:\\Games\\EM
Load Image C:\\Users\\Me\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\z8888evo\\c1.jpg,4000,1,0
When the game does load the game won't display the actual map in the nav window, no symbols, no grid just a blank spot in the window. Funnily enough this doesn't happen in single player. Will try a reinstall and see if that fixes it.

Is this on a Nvidia 3D card? Any mods in place? That error simply means something on your system blocked the game from being able to load the image file into memory. It can vary between SP and MP since each mode has different memory use levels. Couple of suggestions to try:
1 - Restart the system, check the available physical memory on the system summary screen in msinfo32, verify it's above 1.5 GB.
2 - Check the 3D settings for your video card, if any AA or AF is manually applied, set it back to application preference to temporarily test the game with.
3 - Update your display drivers for your 3D video card, restart, launch and test the game.

Weird. I'm on a fresh install of Win 7, plenty of RAM (8GB) and the latest nVidia drivers (285.62). Glitch? Can Evo handle 64-bit? Could be that it couldn't get enough RAM from the 32-bit range (Gods know I have a lot of widgets and such running). Could be FF had a memory leak and ate up all the useable memory. It's happened before.

Yes, the game is developed on a 64-bit system. It's probably just something along the way interfering with consecutive memory available to the game (some background tasks and security programs can often consume or block memory a game needs, even intermittently). Since it happens right at the end of the loading phase, it indicates the block is somewhere in the upper 800-900 MB range. Are you familiar with msconfig? If so, just temporarily unchecking various unneeded tasks, then turning them back on again one at a time to test the game will likely help determine which one may be causing it. If it still won't work, follow the steps here to send me a msinfo report and I'll review your setup for possible options: http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/faq.htm#8
Should be easy to resolve on a system like that.

Hi Baenlyn, I actually have the same issue you do every now and again with a crash at 100 percent load and a similar error. It always loads for me the second time though after it crashes. I suppose it is infrequent enough that nobody else seems to have reported it, but for what it's worth my setup is very similar to yours it seems. What video card do you have installed?

Dingo, I've got a GTX 570. I only posted because I thought even if it was intermittent it was recurring with enough frequency to cause issues. (i.e. it happened after a third reset)
Vice. Available memory on restart is 6.02 GB. When I had the issue last night memory in use was about 2.4 GB so that would leave 5.6 of available memory.
in the nVidia settings AA and AF are both set to application controlled.
So I guess that leaves a service interfering with things. If I get the problem recurring I'll try and isolate what's causing it.

Did you try Vice's memory tester to see how much consecutive free memory you have?
