What is Al's Quay?

I saw some threads about this before but none of them really answered the question, or I didn't understand the answers given... :C

What I'm wondering is what exactly is the "Al's Quay" system? It's background, story, anything? And what's this about prices being free... I'm there (playing Evochron Mercenary) and everything seems pretty normal pricing for the economy.

I know the "Quays" are some system of wormhole highway allowing super-far travelling... I don't see anything special besides a regular wormhole (and it doesn't even lead that far off).

There is a history from the time of the game Renegades....I'm not sure about the history but in Legends and Renegades there was a highway of wormholes. I have briefly been to Al's Quay in Mercenary a long time back and iirc it has changed from what it used to be in Renegades and Legends so what you might have been reading was about Renegades or Legends. There might still be some hidden containers there with free items though!......

Out of curiousity, anyone know what that history is? I'm guessing it isn't mentioned in Mercenary anywhere... that's one of the things I wish they had done. Made a little more referance to the lore for the newbies like me.

Lots of Legends and stories have been lost in time and I could not find any written history or background on Al's Quay in Renegades or Legends! Just rumours of players who have visited the System as reflected in the threads on this forum!......I do not think any one really knows the History except maybe Vice!...

there is al's quay 1 and 2 , al's highway is a chain of wormholes that connect the 2 systems.

Yes, now I remmeber that that is the case in Renegades and Legends, but I'm not sure about Mercenary if the highway still exists!.......

There is a wormhole that leads to "Al's Quay II", and a wormhole there that leads back to "Al's Quay". I guess that must be the highway!

Yep, just visited it today the highway of wormholes is still there between the 2 Quay's. But the Quay's locations have moved from where they were in Renegades and Legends further out from Pearl. I guess the Universe is expanding.....

Been searching for it to find out what all the fuzz about the Quay's was all about. Having located both of them, I wonder what else there is apart from a planet and a station?... Is there anything more worth looking for?

I'm not sure, but you could go back and get a Civi ship and a Sience Ops and then go back.....just a suggestion!...

Ah yeah good point. Well I never bothered with any crew. They fart in their space suits and make too much noise. And I don't wanna bother with a civilian ship either. Grown attached to my Evoch-E too much lol. Oh well, some secrets are meant to be undiscovered I guess (at least for some). Like landing on Earth.

First of all sorry bringing such an old post back alive, was looking for info about other systems.

But after a long day in cockpit and few whisky in the bar of the station, old memories comming back.

As new and Young flyer, I started my career in Avochron Alliance with mining day long until i got my real first ship, that was worth flying.

At that time we was not so many flyer online and people planned then to meet online. One of the evening we was flying together, an old fame trader showed us his trade routes, so the other flyer could earn some Money.

His name was Al or All, if this is the real story about Al Quay we maybe never get to know, except for Vice.

Wow ... registered in 2005 but didn't start flying until Vice released Arvoch Alliance.
