Hello, this is my fan-fic about a fighter pilot gone miner after the civil war

I wish to apologies in advance if i get anything wrong and for taking huge liberty's with certain things (adding in a news network and something else you will find out later).

Apart from that I hope you enjoy it and please give me advice on how to improve.

Old space, New enemy Part 1

-[INN SPECIAL REPORT]-

The Independent News Network, bringing you the latest in Evochron Space

-[Vonari Incursion Confirmed, War Imminent?]-
A leak from within Alliance Navy has confirmed the Incursion of Vonari ships into Alliance space, speculation started 3 months ago after several transports were attacked by later confirmed Vonari ships, Alliance Navy has now mobilised a task force to secure Alliance sectors and space.

-[Breaking News]-
Alliance Navy and the independent merchants guild are in talk today to discuss signing an agreement to help secure trade routes along Alliance and Vonari space, the IM have been campaigning for Alliance navy to step up patrols of trade routes, IM also voiced its intentions to provide a support role if necessary.

And now over to spor-

The radio went silent as John Hammersly switched to a public channel trying to pick up any incoming ships, his ship floated in space as the mining laser cut into the asteroid, â€œShould never have accepted that contract, bringing me out to this sector when the Vonari are making a pushâ€� John thought as he waited for his cargo bay to fill, still looking for any radar contact.

Slowly John drifted off to sleep thinking of his wife and child back home, â€œOne more job and I can return home for a while, sometimes I wish I never joined the IM, then I could be free to go where I please, me and Cindy could-â€� John heard a buzz from his com.

He sprang into action preparing for a warp jump but waited to hear the chatter again, scanning the radar waiting for a blip to give him any indication of danger,*blip* -[Hunter: Navy]-, John took a deep breath of recycled air and sat back into his chair, *blip* -[Unknown: Vonari]- 'warning, inbound missile'.

John watched as the radar lit up with hundreds of Alliance and Vonari ships all around him, his heart began to beat wildly and sweat was pouring and floating off of his face, he turned on IDS and fired up the afterburners avoiding fighters and missiles trying to find safety, the radio chatter was all over the place but it was clear, the Vonari weren't going to be stopped at this asteroid field.

John broke free of the dogfighting and capitol ship engagements and spotted a jump gate to Cerulean 50k off, he didnâ€™t notice the stray Vonari fighter following up behind him launching a missile, 'Incoming Missile' â€œcrap, hope this worksâ€�, John Launched the warp drive and ended up hurtling towards the gate, luckily he fell through just as the stray missile destroyed the jump gate, but he was safe.

On the other side of the jump gate the radio chatter was silent, not even a news report of what was happening in Talison, John set the nav coordinates for Olympus Prime and engaged the autopilot, he sat back and thought to himself, â€œWhen I get home I am Quiting the IM before they can agree to assist the Navy, my fighter Pilot days are behind meâ€�.

Slowly John's ship navigated his way through the way points, headed for his home in Olympus Prime.

Keep it coming. One suggestion if I may.

To keep readers on their toes, a really good "cliffhanger" is a great thing to end the chapter with;)

there were some spots i wanted to do that but then it would have been to short but i will try to end on a cliff hanger next time, thatnks for reading, more coming soon
