LAN Offline?

I'm considering getting this game but before I do I need to know if I am able to play any form of multi-player with my friends over a LAN network while not connected to the internet (but connected to a router).

Yes, the server program works with LAN multiplayer as well. Just set the privacy mode to 1 (which is the default setting) and use your local LAN address for the host system.

Thanks! Will I need to be connected to the internet to log on or will that be ok offline as well? I ask because I don't have internet at my house

The server program can run independently without an internet connection if you just want to play over LAN.

Defenatly works even with steam. We got the game last week. Then the power went out for a few days. Thus the internet was out. However we have a generator so we where still able to run the computers and router. So we started our server up and ran the two other computers playing the game with no problems.
