I'm using a USB Sidewinder Precision Pro and Win 7 x64. There isn't any software method that I'm aware of to reduce the axes sensitivity outside of the game. Even the 'LOW' setting in-game is un-flyable....needs to be reduced by maybe a factor of 20 or so?
Is there some way of doing this though an .ini or config file?

Not really, but part of the behavior is by design. Consider that the Ferret you start out in is a very twitchy and sensitive ship. As you progress in the game, the ships get bigger, heavier, and less responsive. You'll likely find the Evoch class and higher to respond much less immediately. Also, you can taper down the deadzone for less reponse near the center of each axis, which helps some players.

Deadzone isn't an issue, it's the extremes that are the problem. I found an older tweaking program that actually still works under Win7x64...I overcalibrated X, Y, and Z axes by 100% (doubled the input range)...set the game back Med sensitivity, and 0 dead zone. Flies like a dream now
The version that works with Win7 is here:
http://www.avsimrus.com/f/misc-24/dx-tw ... wnload&hl=
And the instructions to get it working are here:
http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showt ... ?p=1462512
Note there is a typo in the dummy .reg file that is posted in the instructions....you'll need to remove the space in each instance of the word 'Profiles'...you'll see it right away when you open the reg file in notepad.
Hope that helps anyone else that is having similar issues and doesn't have software (ie Saitek) that can tweak this stuff.

Thanks for sharing, it probably will work also on a Saitek X52, since this one does not have a sensitivity tweak in its software profile editor or control panel. From post: 120072, Topic: tid=8161, author=DarkSyd wrote:Deadzone isn't an issue, it's the extremes that are the problem. Tried to use it on my X52, the DXTweak2.exe will not even run on my Windows 7 64 bit Pro....
I have not tried it in Windows XP 32 bit Pro yet.
