Ship texture pack

Post by slamscape »

Hello,

I am new to this game, been playing Mercenary MP for a few nights. I really like the look and feel of the game, the stations and the planets and the cockpit. The only thing that has bothered me a little is the player ship textures seem low res and a little i dunno muddy.

I was curious if there were any alternate texture packs out there, or templates for each ship so that I can create my own (I've done some skinning/texturing in some other games).

Also this game is awesome :)

 Go the the main download page and get the Customization Kit. Then, if you have questions about how it works, ask around. One or two of the better modders are sure to offer some advice.

Hi Slamscape, welcome to the game and forum. Hope to see you out there some time....;):P
And as Marvin said the Customization kit is a good place to start.

Thank you for the replies, I did download the customization kit, however it doesn't have a template for the hull2.dds texture set. I've started out with a generic texture but it's hard to see what part of my texture lines up with which part of the civilian ships. Is there a generic template out there the at least gives the areas that correspond to wings, engine, etc.

If not is there any way to access the model and load it into a viewer so that I don't have to load the game up every time I want to see if the texture is in the right spot? Thanks you in advance for any help :)
