Nigel's minimalist HUD

Post by Nigel_Strange »

Minimalist HUD.

Let me know if you are interested, so I will put up the files.

Image

HUD effects:
Open gunsight (nothing to obstruct the view of the target)
OCR warning indicators (PWR, SHD, etc.)
Dark MFD displays (removed frames and other grid lines)
Simplified MDTS indicator (dark red for on, bright green for active)
Chevron-style landing beacons

Yes please - I woud like to use the dark screens, simplified MDTS and warning indicators and have a play with the chevron landing beacons - my aged eyesight needs simple but I still want some cool tech look for atmosphere! :D:D

Looks real good, Nigel. I'd be interested in giving it a test flight. :)

I would like to get your target display. I like the openness of it and the triangles to mark the ship level.:)

Thanks all. I hope you are not disappointed. It is not very artistic, but it gets the job done and hopefully isn't too dreadful or painful on the eye.

Scroll up to the top of this thread. I have added a download link which I hope works.

Thanks Nigel!. Yep, the link works. Am using both iterations of the targeting reticule, and your #1 and #3 MFD's for my own HUD-crafting attempts. Really like the low profile look,
gives me more screen real estate. Helps these tired, old eyes. :D

Hi Mikeuk.

You just put a "hud" folder in your main game directory.
Put all the files nigels hud-mod folder in there.
To remove it, just delete the "hud" folder.

Also thanks Nigel, great work. I've actually started to mod the cockpit myself now. Compass
completed and more to come.;)

There is a new graphic for the gunsight. The idea is to maintain (enhance, even!) the minimalism, while also making the navigation point clear. The result is shown here:

Great hud Nigel just gave it a spin last night on multiplayer, love the warning cues and overall feel. I used the viper hud before and this is definately my new hud of choice.

Yep - it comes up with:

Invalid or Deleted File. The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

I think I've got a copy of it - it looks like the one in the second screen shot and comes in three colours (fire, ice and venom) plus the shadow; they are all bigger than the upload limit here. If you U2U me with your email address I'll send them to you. Or I can upload them onto my webspace and send you the URL
