Availability of superior frames.

Enjoying the game immensely! I have reached novice level (playing miner\\trader) and will soon be exploring more hostile environments. I am asking if the availability of better frames is dependent on the player's level, or it just a matter of looking around until you find one that offers them. I notice that superior frames are listed in the various shipyards, but appear to be unavailable to me at the moment. The Scorpion looks to be a decent choice for a mid-level frame.

Travel to the outer systems and you will find them.

Just keep on mining or become an arms dealer in Pearl. You will be able to get anything you want. At that point the game really begins.

The ships are grayed out or dark when they are not available at the Station or City Dock. The best frames are ussually only available at hidden planets and stations in high tech Systems and as long as you have the credit you can buy any available ship. For top Military frames you have to do contracts in Warzones and those higher frames are only available to higher ranking pilots. So you have to get your rank up before you can fly the higher class military frames...

Thanks guys. I found a Sabre frame near Olympus and I'm getting the hang of the game's combat. I've managed to bag 21 hostiles so far without dying by using the 'shoot and scoot' tactic - not very heroic, but then you never want to fight fair anyway, I guess.
