awsome game. I have been wanting this game for a long time now and recently came across it w a random search. just finished the img quest and am in awe. :):)
question ---
do you gain access to better hull designs from experience or from what system you are in??
also wanted to say thanks to the community for the help on mp --all around just very happy w the experience so far.

Thank you sundalo. Did it yesterday,I hope all of you would like my new logo... "Double headed eagle owl" is ancient symbol of my ancestors, has been used by many nations later in time. Red layer is "crescent", also represents eagle eye and there is a white star on eagle's heart!
Thanks for the welcome guys. Im currently trying to hone my skills in sp before i really jump in.
And yes warsign you are correct, I dont believe I have seen even a small fraction of what this universe has. I am addicted.
? I am sure this question has already been posted, but i will ask it here because of the quick responses to my prev question.
Do the different levels of engines effect your aceleration and then your deceleration speed when in inertial mode. It seems that all or most of the fighting should be done in inertial -- so should i stack all build points in other areas ie. shields, wings, fuel etc. if I will be in inertial mode for the majority of the time??
It all depends on your frame, wings and engine......These 3 are the most important for affecting inertial.
Some wings have extra thrusters which help agility and movement in inertial mode and the heavier the frame the slower the response of your inertial thrusters and the stronger the engine the faster you can get out a jamb in afterburner but this can be tricky because of the heat generated by the engine in combat it will lock all missiles on your engines but you could out run the missiles with a strong engine giving the proper timing and the kind of missile speed locked on to your engine.....:P

I guess what I meant was --- in inertial mode - will a level 1 engine be able to accelerate as fast as a level 10 engine, or does this just vary the top speed while in ids mode?
If it does effect inertial acceleration than I will dump more points into engine & if it only effects top ids speed than I will probably stick w a level 1 engine.
Just a random question I am thinking of while at work-- can't really play test it now.
The latest releases of the game allow you to increase maximum engine speed by up to 5x. Thereby decreasing the importance of bigger and more powerful engines ... relative to other parts of the frame which modify performance.

ThAnks for any advise !!
I do not think so as said earlier the game uses Newtonian physics, so you'r accelaration speed will vary depending on heavy frame compared to light frame and engine class and wingthrusters so a class 10 engine while in Inertial mode should give you a higher accelaration then a class 1 engine on the same frame and wing system. Never cared to measure it thou......

I think Aures (or somebody) wrote a "book" on something similar and posted it to the forum. It's somewhere here, lost among other labors of love. A good Search might find the thing.
