I built a simple website to keep track of my own notes.

I uploaded it on request from other pilots.
It's not as professional as some may want but it might be of some use for explorers.

Be advised. There will be secret locations that I find/get notified of, so if
you want to explore everything yourself, don't visit. ;)

In this thread I will post notes about my universe charting mission.
Any feedback is appreciated.

The site location:
http://evochron.junholt.se

Enjoy ....... or don't, it's all up to you! :P:P

I see the names of the various systems in a bit wrong positions, like some of them were moved downwards: is that intentional?

Thanks Rush.

No, it's not intentional. I'll look in to it tonight. (I was rather tired when I did the update last night:o)

I was picking that example. Objects are one over another. The capability of doing a zoom would be nice. But if it's not possible, it's ok.

I will update as much as time allows, but I still want to fly as well:P. What I mean is that I don't have time/skill to make this site like a pro could, so it will stay pretty basic.)
Sure. Take your time. As it is now, it will serve well the purpose. Enjoy the game. This is secondary. :)

EDIT: Just want to add another suggestion. Please turn off the hidden objects. They should only be visible only when you press the left button for the hidden objects and not on the "overall" view.

Gah, I am so torn by whether to peek or not. I did get a good kick out the stuff I found myself. Maybe I can control myself until I have had a good look around first. I am also torn by whether to contribute. Of course, not wanting to peek means I can't check whether I am the first to find something (or find something that isn't public knowledge). But, I have been to the front page and it looks very useful.

I dont know if I will contribute specific locations to it before I start using it (refer to aformentioned problem with not wanting to peek). But, at the very least I will at some stage give you my list (or the vast majority of it) of sectors with their respective system names that I am building up. I think we could eventually compile a pretty good system territory map with hidden systems included (at least for the ecliptic).

Maybe many people who would like to find things themselves but unlike me don't have the time and patience to map out system borders would find that useful. Just look at the (half filled in) territory map for clues about what might be where without the exact location. It would also allow people to give other players clues like "In the south corner of the A123 system" if they wanted to.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if there is an A123 system (probably is) or anything in the south corner of it.

I don't think it would be much of a spoiler for you right now. It's just a start of mapping the "known" universe
at the moment. Secrets will come along as soon as I find/get notified of them. You're more than welcome to contribute if you like.

I to enjoy discovering things myself. Thats why I created it in the first place. (To keep track of all my notes).
I didn't start it to "collect" others discoveries but since a lot of people likes it, I will run it as a mutual discovery
map for all interested.;)

Yeah but I have been focusing on a pretty small area so far. There is lots of "grey" stuff I have not seen since legends. I still need to go to all the big names in hidden systems from Legends so it would definitely spoil it a bit for me if I looked now.

Actually, that's not a bad idea while I wait for Vice to look over my funky saves. First stop, two words, rhymes with lust pucker. Then I might go spelunking. I wonder if I can still go down the way.

I think it's a great piece of work SeeJay. I don't get time to play like everyday so it's useful for me to visit interesting things whilst I can concentrate on exploring areas which aren't yet charted in your database.

Thanks MCCON.

It's a time-consuming project but it is going forward. I don't intend to stop flying this sim in the nearest decade or so, so it will probably be a few charted areas there.:P:P

Since a star is the only thing in real space visible from just about anywhere, perhaps you should only display stars on the default map (the one you see when first going to the link). Buttons could then be pressed to display other items of a celestial and planetary nature.

Btw, for anyone curious about the location of Lost Rucker (lots of queries in MP), here you go:

Hi I've logged onto the site but the universe map just has a small gray fuzzy square in the middlle and the top left corner tells me that the site was last updated on the 8th of March

the various objects seem to be from the cerulean warzone and many are empty

where is the chart? What am I doing wrong? :(

Hi DaveK.

The site looks just fine???

There should be a "EVOCHRON" text (link) on the first page. If you click on that you should get all the "known" systems.
The site is under construction so the only system thats really up there is Cerulean Warzone. This site containes Frames. Does your browser settings support that.

Try pressing F5 or Ctrl F5 to update your browser. If you have a slow connection it might take a while to open the page since there are a lot of images.

Thanks Spartan. For now it would be nice if you could help with mapping the coords for all "known" items, as you mentioned, stations, planets etc. for a system. I did Cerulean Warzone. Von Paulus just sent me Sapphire system. There is a form from the website where you can email me info. I could actually put a list on the first page with pilot and what system he/she is exploring so we don't do the same. This is just to get the known system charted. The exploring will continue of course. :P

Hi SeeJay - thanks! :)

despite 30 years of playing with computers I didn't think of clicking on everything I could see! :(

Although you have created it to keep track of your own explorations this is a very cool site  - congratulations and thanks!

As soon as I have time to actually find something, rather than crashing out of the racing rings 2/3rds of the way through on the IMG quest, I will contribute. Do you want anyone (nerdy, feeble kind of anally retentive explorer) to map know systems in detail? I suspect that by the time I've found something, there will be organised tourist trips to see the main sites there!

:)

"Organized tourist trips!" - ROFL:P
Good one. You're welcome, and thanks!
If you find something you would like to add to the charts you could use the form on the site and
I'll add it.

See ya out there! :D

Thanks a lot for your help Von Paulus.

I have summarized all the Sapphire info you supplied me with and it seems that you
have completed that system/subsystems now. I actually took a ride there yesterday just to get an overview.
I will try to update that part of the universe tonight.;) Excellent work mate. :D

The IMG quest is sending me to Olympus for my first combats.
So I'll begin to map Olympus. I'll send you the data, with at least all the visible objects, when I finish exploring the System.
