I am trying to change my control layout but I can't seem to bind mouse controls to a key. I click on the control, it turns green and a message displays saying says "Press new key or button to bind for this function...". If I press a button on the keyboard the assignment works as expected. If I click any of my 7 mouse buttons the game beeps but no assignment is made.
Is there something else I need to do or does the game have some issue with my mouse?

I think as for any game controller you have to have a special software for the mouse to program keyboard commands to the mouse. I bet you will be able to find mouse programming software on the internet....

Yeah I already have some. What is the point of having the option in the configuration if it can't be used? Is it just to tell you what the default mouse bindings are and let you remove them?
I have to admit, the possibility that the configuration screen just doesn't work for mouse buttons and that it is not a bug hadn't really entered my head. I can understand that it might not work for any old game controller so it might have a problem with my fancy mouse but does it work for any mouse?

The software program for the mouse should let you assign keyboard commands to the mouse without setting them in game I believe since the game accept what ever your mouse is programmed to do out side of the game......

exactly.... my mouse has two additional buttons along the right side (easy thumb access), so I can just assign a specific key to each (say F1 to open the map and F3 to open the inventory, for example) in the configuration program for the mouse itself.... then when I launch the game, those buttons are ready to goOriginally posted by Maarschalk
