A couple of newbie questions

My first question is, are all the missions labeled as I.M.G. part of that starter "questline"?

Also, I took a mission to clean a solar array. I flew out there, and used my tractor beam on every panel. The mission never completed. The panel in the center is still odd looking compared to all the others, but no matter how long I used my beam on the center panel, the mission wont finish. What am I doing wrong?

No not all missions are labeled I.M.G. Only the once that belong to the quest are labeled I.M.G.

Go over all the squares of the Solar panel very carefully several times. They have to be squeeky clean. One atomic dust particle left will not let you complete the mission. The panel will look clean to you but you probably mist a tiny not vissible spot....
