Absolute Rookie - Finding Lost Navy Item?

Just one question - I jumped to the waypoint in a contract where I have to retreive a lost navy item - how do I find it??

We have answered this before, but will do so again.
Keep flying directly till you see a purple blip. Sometimes it means flying directly to and past the nav marker till you see it, but it is there.
When you see the purple blip, close on it till it is directly in front of your ship, close enough for the contract to be completed and if the contracts requires it, to be picked up with the tractor beam.

Yes, as MMaggio says but make sure when you jump that your pitch and heading are both set to 0 when jumping from station to Nav point and keep flying straight till you see the purple blip on radar fly towards it and pick it up with tractor beam if so required to return Item to Station......
