quest levels seem to hard

Hello, I am currently try to protect the cap ship that needs to get to a waypoint, and it seems like it is too hard, maybe i am just rushing through the quests, or i need to do more to make money to upgrade, any quick suggestions for what is needed to complete this quest, or even better donations for my pilot!

It is possible to complete all the quests in a civilian ship, so you might consider upgrading before taking on more quests.

A couple of combat suggestions, too:

1. Excals aren't really for missions anymore. Try using other missiles. They are expensive, though, so load up on free ones where you can find them.

2. Keep your speed up, but stay close to the ship you are protecting. It is easy to chase one ship away while the others are attacking the ship you are guarding. This is a good mission to use missiles generously, because you need to kill the foes quickly. You can make up for the economic disadvantages later (hopefully with some new guild-revealed free swag).

3. You can use lasers and cannons separately now with different buttons. Map them so that you can use them alternately without having to waste time switching. Focus lasers on a foe while your cannons recharge (I assume you have a cannon relay). You will find that your energy banks will gain energy even while you are whittling the enemy's shields or at least keeping them from recharging.

4. Upgrade. Get good weapons, shields, and other upgrades as you can afford them.

5. Save often.

Or a member of any clan. You share the credit (assuming you are, yourself, in a clan).

I currently do not have a cannon relay as I have only 3 equipment slots as I currently am flying the starting ship for a mercernary, maybe I should hav upgraded this first but hindsite is 20/20. Yes marvin I currently am in a clan but they are harldy ever on, and the only other clan I have close ties with was Star Destroyers and they are more or less gone.

Definitely upgrade your ship, then. The beginner's frame is even worse than it was in Legends. I suggest mining/trading for a bit and then buy whatever frames and equipment you need from Alpha Centauri and Deneb. Doing anything combat related in the beginner's frame is like bringing the proverbial knife to a gunfight.

Check all the options ... you can now configure your ship. If you don't need that crewmember slot right now, you can swap it out for more equipment space.

Also, for escort missions, always do your best to focus on the ships attacking the escort vessel, ignoring the others until the immediate threats are eliminated.

Yes and use powerful missiles like Exodus, eliminate capital ship attackers first. Then If you want, clean others.

I did 4-5 protect mission in MP yesterday all alone, every one was a success...

I was struggling as well with the combat missions especially sucking at combat like I do and after awhile I realized... if I suck at combat why am I trying to do all the work? So I hired 3 ships to tag along with me in my fleet and I jump to the point and let my wing mates do the work while I dodge any incoming shots. I know it may seem a bit cheap in terms of playing... but hey it's better to fly with help and help they certainly do.

Just keep in mind that this method is for single player play. If you're in multiplayer you should be able to find some people willing to help you.
