Legends Modding?

Post by SuperDave »

Well ive flown around, mined (still havnt figured out the fuel converter...but i will eventually.) traded n ran missions. Im not sure about the main quest, guess ill figure that out too lol.

I thought about looking into modding the game, however, i cannot for the life of me find anything about modding the actual equipment. Sure gfx, sounds, and models...but no way to add equipment or change the universe.

just wondering if that part was left out intentionally, being MP and all.

If i cant its fine,
take it easy.

Indeed the core systems are kept protected from alteration in an effort to provide consistent gameplay/fairness. However, you can use the default economic/inventory pricing structure and still modify what everything is called and labelled. So rather than 'Diamonds', you could name them something else that you'd want to be a high value commodity. For that kind of modification, check into changing the text/data files that come with the game (text.dat is a good place to get started).

Legends Modding?

 There's also and entire thread in the Mods section called something like "Creating a Galaxy from Scratch" filled with questions and (from Vice, mostly) detailed answers. Between that and the Kit, you t should do pretty well. And you can always ask more questions.
