Post by ransom stark »

hi guys i know im not supposed ask this but i recently started to really play this game and realized how awesom it really is, infact conbat in this game is very heart pumpin stuff and i seem to be damn good at it,
ive amassed a small fortune and wanna buy the leviathan
i flown thru pretty much the entire top half of the quadrant map so many stations:( not to mention the hit run tactics to get thru to every station since every one is red to me, but at 10-12 to 1 its pretty hard flying, wandering if some could plz tell me which quad the leviathan is in? Cuz every station ive searched in every quadrant ive been in it says the ship is unavailable{
plzzzzzzzz:D save me alota heart ache:D thx!

am i doing somthing wrong? i dont need to be a certain civy rank do i?

double up : also if items sellf for more in outer systems wud it be smarter to side with the guilds an rebels like restart game so ican fly in there and not have reds all over me or do i need to kill navy to be friends with them?

 Sol system has the Levy. You can buy one as soon as you arrive ... unlike military craft which require certain rank.
But don't favor the Reds ... just keep doing contracts for the good guys and, eventually, all will cater to your needs.

You can get a Levi in Lost Rucker, a lot easier to get to than Sol.

Mh, Sol is a bit hard to get to without the riftspace shortcut. You'd have to fly there manually, which takes quite a bit of time and a metric shitload of fuel.

I suggest trying one of the hidden planets, those aren't that far off the beaten path.

Then again, why bother? The Leviathan is a space slug, with all the grace and agility of a rigellian swamp pig in a pool of vaseline...

 I agree about the Levy ... but you can cut its turn rate in half by upgrading to a top-of-the-line wing. And everyone should take the long way to the Sol system at least once ... or you ain't a real space pilot.

Hi Ransom Stark, welcome to Evochron!

I agree that the Levi is such a cumbersome flying brick of a ship that it's only really useful for seriously long-haul type of stuff where you need full cargo capacity with a massive fuel tank. Good for deep space exploration but not very versatile. The Hunter frame is a much more rounded-out ship with a good balance of weapons load-out, cargo, and agility. Anyhow you can normally find the Levi in any of the hidden systems, which you can locate from the Strategy Guide (if you want to cheat) or by asking other pilots in MP space.

First of all...every time you write a paragraph like that, a thesaurus dies. Think of all the poor thesauri! Add a full stops where the sentence ends and a few commas where you pause to breathe. Makes the whole thing a lot easier to read for us old geezers.

Okay, since we got the obligatory grammar nazi rant out of the way:

What kind of faction you support merely influences a systems stability in the long run. When you run missions for the Navy and the Energy Companies, your standing with them will increase. Once you reach a certain threshold, the systems reputation towards you will increase.
Once you hit "good", no one in the system will bother to attack you anymore, but at the same time there will be no more combat missions offered.

Since you want to trade, you might want to consider "pacifying" your target system a bit; myself, I dislike the mission selection in systems with good reputation and rarely bother advancing it past "fair". YMMV, of course.

I'm unsure if running missions for the guilds and rebels exclusively would destabilize your reputation (in Legends, they tend to offer quite a lot of capital ship related missions, which are rather hard, take a long time and offer comparatively bad pay for the hassle).
However, if you want to decrease your reputation, just shoot everything that moves, that worked like a charm for me. Don't forget to loot the wrecks and remember that reputation is system specific. Rigel's saint might be Emerald's public enemy number one.

And do not forget to accept bribes. You can make a lot of credits depending on your own credit rating. It is very important thou that after accepting a bribe offer to destroy the bribe paying ship anyway otherwise contract might not complete or fail....LOL....:P:P:P:P:P
