Ok, so I was on the forum the other day and someone mentioned some software called touch buddy. I checked it out and for the past couple of days i've been working on a profile for it.
I am currrently using my samsung netbook for it but now i've finished the profile i'm going to pick up a small touch screen monitor to use with it.
Anyway, it got me thinking - I have made tons of profiles with all sorts of input devices and I though I may as well share them here as it might help some people; at the very least, you could use the profiles as a start-off point.

Here is a couple of screenshots of the finished touch buddy profile. Basically all the buttons are covered, other than primary controls (pitch/yaw/roll/firing) which wouldn't work well from a touchscreen anyway.

Most of the buttons are 'animated' so you know when they have been pushed. The resolution is set at 800x600. This is a good resolution to use it on the netbook and the resolution my touchscreen will be. You can change it in the touch buddy profile maker but you'll have to rearrange them to fit at other resolutions.
You can download the touchbuddy profile here
I have tested this a little, but it probably still needs some improvements. It should be a good template so feel free to to edit it to suit you better - My photoshop skills aren't the best.

Here is my x52 pro profile. I spent a while changing/fixing it so it would feel just right (to me at least). All buttons are mapped and all controls/buttons on the joystick are used. You will have to map the axis yourself (I map pitch, roll, throttle - then inertial forward back, left/right, up/down are maped to the rotary dials and the slider respectively). I refined this profile for months trying to optimise it as much as possible. If you do try it bare in mind it will take a while to get use to but hen you push a button it will tell you what it does on the mfd, so that should make things easier.
Even if you use this as a template all the buttons are set and can be moved around relatively easily. Best of all you don't have to go to the trouble of naming everything for the mfd.
*Note: mode 3 is the default state (the one with the blue light is kind of a safe mode) - switch to red and you can jettison cargo, self destruct etc.

This is my xpadder profile. I can use my xbox 360 controller as a good substitute for the x52 when I don't want to have to sit up properly in front of the computer and/or wanna play on the TV in the living room.
Most of the necessary controls are mapped and I have the keyboard by just in case there is anything else I need. It works suprisingly well when you get used to it (even mouse control is mapped so you don't need to have one at hand).
There is an instructions file included showing what each button does so you don't have to work it out yourself. You will need to map pitch/yaw/roll in game.
The profile was made in xpadder ver. 5.6.

This is a pilfius profile. Pilfius is an easy to use/setup voice recognition software program. I set this up and it was fun flying about in my spaceship with voice controls. A novelty more than anything but good fun all the same.
You'll might need to download and install the microsoft voice recognition api.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my freetrack profile. Probably not much use to anyone but a good place to start if you're new to freetrack and wanna get it working with EL. Evochron's not the same without it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some glovepie scripts I used a lonnng time ago. Could be of use to someone, I used this a good while ago for playing EL on my netbook with wii remotes before I had the 360 wireless reciever. I think there is a script for the wii remote & nunchuck and the wii classic controller.
I also at one used a program called wiimouse, which is easier and more practical to setup than using glovepie. I can add that profile if anyone needs as well. I haven't included it as it involves using ppjoy to set up a virtual joystick
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, hope those are of use to someone. I never realised how far I have come with regards to Evochron Legends input methods! Probably spent more time creating profiles than playing the game!
I will no doubt be updating some of these profiles when EM comes along so i'll add those profiles too.
If you have a profile you wanna share add it to the thread, 'be nice to have them all in one place. I remember when I first played the demo. I was using the keyboard + mouse and the controls were a little bit daunting. This should help give new players an idea of the input possibilities - at least reduce the time they have to messing with profiles.
