Bribes?
The amount depends on your pilot rating and own wealth, so the richer you are the more you have to pay to successfully bribe another pilot.
Try bribing a pilot with 5000, then 10,000, then 20,000, and so on until it's successful. Whatever amount that is should work on most other pilots until your rating goes up or down again.

I have a rating of 103, and around 12mill still a trainee rank.. Ive tried to give all my cash and still no result, i feel im doing something wrong or do i have to wait for a message after the bribe? something like when the system gets new products.. also im not sure how many missions you must do before seeing any changes in rep. ive done 15+ for energy and nothings gone up

Hello jkren, Welcome to the forum and the Sim. Never had much luck with bribes but a good ship, weapons and some practice at combat work better for some of us. See you out there sometime.

Bribes only work in Single Player and not online in Multiplayer. I made 2 billion in bribes while pacifiying every hostile system in Evochron. To bribe succesfully you have to target the ship attacking you and you have to be in its targeting range and stay steady in its range and than bribe it with a payment and it should turn green if the ship attacking you was red or yellow and the bribe is accepted. They seldom accept the bribe thou, they do not have to if they do not like the amount your paying them. I never bribed any enemies but while pacifiying Evochron with my rating of I believe it was around 120,000 and 52 billion in credits at the time the reds I was destroying and attacking were all offering me huge amounts of bribes not to kill them so I would accept their bribe offer of 10 million and destroy them anyway because if you do not the pacifiying will take longer and the contracts will take longer because your reputation and contracts are affected with navy, energy and miners if you accept bribes from rebels and guilds. But why in the world would you want to pay all you got to bribe the enemy in Evochron once you get experienced enough there is no need for you to loose credits and you can gain a lot more credit by accepting bribes from them, do not pay them, let them pay you LOL...and also if you pay bribes to the wrong party your reputation also get adversely affected.....

That is true but why not accept the bribe first and than resolve the issue with a salvo of excaliburs...that way it is a win win situation for you...and by the way they start paying you bribes after they attack you first with all they got and than if they have no where to run than they offer you bribes. For me that is to late and I will show no mercy I'll accept their bribe offer and than take them out anyway...

Thanks Maarschalk,
I just thought it might benefit me more to make no negative moves agaist energy/navy/miners, i still dont really understand the whole system of rep even with all the reading... So i just gave up and did the becon quests, they were very tiresome and it seems so is getting my mil. rank up... Also i noticed there is no way to tell how many war zone contracts you have completed, just an overall total. That may be something worth adding. I hear the AI is better in MP, maybe ill look into it if i ever get a decent ship.

The sooner you join MP, the sooner you will get a good ship.
Joining MP does not mean that you will have to defend yourself against other players. Actually, that seldom happens.
Joining MP allows you to interact with other players and trade info on good trade routes, commodities and where's a good place to get a good ship.
You can do co-op contracts and share in the profits at half the risk.
Of course, if you want to shoot somebody, you can do that too!
Good Hunting.

Yes, you can shoot who ever you want in multiplayer, but before you do that make friends first and than ask if you can have a Player versus Player session with your new online friends. Except for Romulan, he/she don't talk he/she shoot to kill new players so watch out for Romie and stay close to your new more experienced friends when Romie shows up....LOL....
Oooooops again, forgot to welcome a newplayer..LOL..
Hi Jkren, Welcome to the game and forum. Hope to see you some time out there....
