While I was in saphire roaming around I came upon this "energy pod" thing. I could pick it up with my tractor beam but could do nothing with it except put it down again. What is it supposed to be for?

If you take it to another item it is suppose to give you fuel I think but can't remember for sure.

What do you mean if you take it to another item? What kind of item? Like a station or a planet? I'm confused....

You take it to a pod receiver in the same nebulae where you found the pod and you get only a few tons of fuel 3 or 4 I believe very little though. It was ment to be to play a game in MP like capture the flag or you could create your own rules like energy pod tag or something....

Playing "Capture the flag" is an exciting and fun feature that Vice has included in the game. Usually teams of 3 or more can have a great deal of fun and it's an awesome way to spend some time in MP.
For some reason, no-one ever tries it. Perhaps they don't know about it.
Maybe we need a section on "Rules for 'Capture the Flag'"!
I'm not sure where the "other side" is.

There is no other side you just try to steal the energy pod from the player who has it and try to score by delivering it to the energy pod receiver...... and you could have multiple teams play the game and the team with the most deliveries wins the game.....

There are two pod-receiver sets. IIRC, the second one is in Pearl's asteroid cave. (We had one jolly good time doing "capture the flag" with that one.) If, after tractoring the energy globe in Sapphire, you can't find the receiver, head toward the star ... after a couple minutes, you should see an oblong object on the other side of the asteroid field.

I'm sure there must be two reciever stations in the same system.
Maybe there could be something in the Nav map that you could click on just for the CTF game. Maybe at the bottom, it could say, "click here for CTF" and then the location of the orb and the two stations would appear.

And there is a third one some where in Riftspace or Vonari, I don't quite remember but it always is one receiver pod per energy pod in the same vicinity of each other.....
