Hi,
Bought off Impulse at weekend, known about EL for some time, so took the chance to nab it in sale.

Anyway, I'm stuck in the navigation and jumpdrive tutorial. It asks to click on a point on or near x40k y40k. But it's almost impossible to do, I haven't managed it yet even with being a fraction off it won't move the tutorial on.

So I go back to the main menu and bypass that tutorial to Inventory and trade consoles. Soon as that loads, I explode. Tried a few times, same each time.

So now I've skipped too much to want to carry on skipping, so wondering if there is a known problem? Search reveals nothing on forum, so maybe it's me?
Help or advice appreciated.

Sounds like you must have "saved" at a distressing point.
Also sounds like you are "left-clicking" when you should be "right-clicking".
If that doesn't solve the problem, try creating a new pilot profile. I use "test pilot" to fall back on whenever I'm not sure about something. Also good for experimenting with key assignments.
Good Luck...

As you move the mouse pointer over the map, watch the readout window on the left side. It will indicate the X and Z coordinates you are pointing to on the map. When they are within around 35-45K each, click.

Not a known issue. Might want to try exiting the game entirely, then relaunch. If it continues, create a new profile and try again.

So far, it's you :) But that's not to say there may not be some kind of problem with the game or something else on your system. Did you do anything else external of the game that might risk altering either the game or the pilot profile files? Are you running anything else in the background? Try the creating a new profile option and see if things change.

Thanks everyone, I definately think it's 'me', as such an obvious problem would no doubt register one or two hits on a forum search at least.

Explosion is the most peculiar. I'll try suggested when I get the chance.

I managed to have a play around without the tutorial anyway to start to get things sorted out on my x-52. Promptly jump drived straight into a planet it seems. I'm good at blowing up, thats for sure. :)

Great game, thanks for replies.
Also just found the strategy guide on a google search, so that's me sorted for a while

I'm there!

ok recreated profile solved the random explosion thing, so that's good.

The second is somewhat embarrassing on my part. I didn't notice the x/y coords went into minus, what I was doing was getting the y coords as -40000 and not noticing the minus sign. oops :)

I know it's been said a thousand times already, but awesome game this, I love it, thanks.

Right then, onwards..
