Last Man Standing Death Match Tournament

I propose a last man standing tournament with no fulcrums and using only excalibers. You can use whatever weapon configuration as far as lasers, cannons, ships you want.
The tournament should be in the Sierra Warzone only. Once you get blown to space dust your out until we have one winner.
The losers must leave the warzone until we have one winner. Leaving the warzone while your still alive is an automatic forfeit of life.
You can warp use stealth whatever your fighting style is.
Everyone talks about how good they are lets do it!

Well, if warping meaning jump drive is allowed then you could keep jumping away till every one else kills every one else and you'll be the last one standing...........LOL

I think there have to be more rules involved. Specialy when using only Excaliburs.
Like:
1. Limit to a specific sector in the Warzone.
2. No jumpdrives allowed.
3. No entering shipyard to hide, swap ships, shield equipment......etc.
4. More then one player can gang up on other players to have a better chance of surviving.
LIke for example if 3 or more players gang up on for example me or Eclipse then one of those 3 players might have a better chance of being the last man standing.

Without specific clear rules there is potential for a lot of ways to be the last man standing with other players considering the results unfair.

I don't like many rules.
Too much rules ruin the tournament.
Yes, needs more but shield management and others are too much for me.

Please take this as suggestions:
In the spirit of keeping our Death match fair a jump drive is necessary especially with possible gang or wolf tactics. A smart captain needs to be able to hit and run.
Otherwise this isn't a ship fight but rather a boxing match on who can take a better pounding. No smarts are involved.
So the game goes a little longer, this is fun so who cares about the time.
In the spirit of fun, I also believe clans should be allowed to play but minus their tags so stray missiles can hit randomly you can have one true champion.
Babylon 5 is where we should have it. B5 keeps things fair and can spot any weird actions or possible cheats.
Babylon 5 could boot a pilot for using illegal weaponry like leach, starfire, exodus or fulcrums. Cursing is not allowed! Nothing wrong with a smart mouth as long as no ones use fowl language.

I agree with Warsign about having too many rules!

Three rules:
1. You can only use excalibers for misssles.
2. You can't leave the warzone
3. Once destroyed you must leave the warzone until another last man standing tournament is started.

Depending on how long you want the thing to go, you could have multiple eliminations. Or reverse elimination ... where top gun (guy who wins three times) steps out and waits for next top gun. Keep going until half the players are eliminated. Then the top guns go at it ... same rules. Half of a half of a half of a half.

Just an idea. Lets guys (and robots) who can't hit the broad side of a barn play longer than ten seconds.

Yikes! If that's what you think about boxing, you need to get in the ring, my friend. As a boxer, I assure you it's a game about smarts.

having played many deathmatch games, and participated in the recent 'zombie night' it's clear that this style of gameplay requires different tactics, I would not be surprised to some surprises in the final results.

On another note how about another version ( current one is more last man standing than deathmatch), where you keep the pilots in a single sector ( or group of 4 depending on numbers ) and the pilot with the highest score ( kills minus deaths) wins the round

, Scoring for this would be easier since if a pilot uses a FT then it would add to their score - though I'd probably recommend banning their usage.

one thing to note is that deaths from FT's only count as deaths, and not as kills ( except in the very rare circumstance where you actually hit a pilot with the missile ).

I agreed. Other players love to attack powerful pilots. And some stay away from hot zone. I would not be surprised too. I know it from Quake

Even one on one elimination systems have some lacks. You can see in "champions league" or "world cup". A lucky lot makes you champion!
Because you have one chance, everyone will play as defensive!

I'd join in, but apparently I left my X52 Pro on the other side of the world. I'm good with a keyboard and mouse, but it just isn't the same

plus, there's something about the massive chair I use here at home that makes me feel like a supervillain (makes it tempting to just FT everything and laugh maniacally while stroking my non-existent mustache). So for everybody's sake, I'll sit this one out.
